Dear BO fans, I am new to this forum. BO products fascinated me from 1995, when I was in Denmark. Then I forgot BO world completely (children, study, ...), BUT I found my fascination for BO month ago with purchase of Beolit 1000 radio in very good visual and working condition. Very nice piece. I am very impressed with vintage wooden pieces from late 70-ties. Now considering to buy some tuner/amplifier. My first proposal/opinion is Beomaster 4400 with Beovox 2702 loudspeakers (which I have chance

Thanks for nice welcome, it was as I wished. I understood, that even I buy functional piece of such vintage radio, it needs to be renovated (electronics) for new life. I can buy renovation kit and ask my father of friend to do the soldering job. I will forgot about thinking about 2702 speakers, because they are too small for it and start to think about something else. Thanks for your help, I stay to read the forum definitely.

After xour advices and my room possibilities I decided to buy CX100 spekers and not the recommended S75 (smal room and not enought space in my flat. Could it be a good idea to combine BM4400 with CX100 speakers?

My Beomaster arrived fully serviced. Repairman replaced both output transistors in one channel and some leaking capacitors. Of course I ordered replacement kit from Dillen, but serviceman told me, that if old caps are working and have their electric specification (he measured it somehow, no idea how) it is good idea to leave them there. So only some caps from Dillen s kit were replaced. I will keep them for next BM opening. Also bought CX-100 loudspeakers which need refoaming (my very close future

  • Re: Beovox S75 Rescue

Hi, very good progress, only minor remains of old paint. I think that carpenters glue will penetrate to veneer (it is soaking material). I recommend NOT to use that type of glue for veneer and wood for removing old paint, because carpenters glue will penetrate to veneer (it is soaking material). Vinyl record is non soaking material so after drying you can remove all the glue and dirt in crust. Another treatment with the same paint remover?

  • Veneer transplantation

Hi beolovers, I decided to repair missing rosewood veneer on my Beomaster 5000. Fortunately, the veneer is relatively thick (circa 0,5mm) and can be processed very good. I did not have a source of rosewood veneer, but I found, that veneer of the same structure is on inner side of wooden cabinet. I decided to take piece of veneer from non visible part and to transplant it on visible side. Result is quite good, there is some difference in colour (inner veneer was hidden from sunlight), that can disappear

  • Re: What is the difference between the S75 and M75 speakers?

Hi Swissknight, you can find some info in product section on beoworld page, M75 and S75 in passive speakers. take home message: Beovox Uni-Phase M100 and M75 were the top models in the 1979 - 1980 range of Bang & Olufsen speakers

  • Re: Beovox S45-2 speakers - damping material

I am not technician, but know, that damping material is important part of speaker and was chosen carefully by B&O people. May be wood is smelling ... as an old stuff at home (my wife is complaining little bit). I cleaned it with isopropyl alcohol, then sanded carefully and treated with bee wax as Frede recommends. All processes are beautifully described here on forum. Speakers look awesome, sound is also very nice. I am very satisfied.

  • Re: Your latest addi(c)tion?

Hi, firs of all you need FM connector from 70-ties (two pin, 300ohm). It looks like this, and it is quite hard to find. In my contry there are some occasionally available, I was not able to find it on international ebay auctions, my friend electrician found one for me in his old stock. Another source could be forum members here, who are renovating hifi from these days. Then I connected this to this indoor anntena: [View:
