• Re: BeoSound Moment

This sounds exciting: " Dear Jaap, thank you for your interest. The multiroom feature will be rolled out to multiple products. There is no need for an "audio master" in the system, meaning that you can combine any two products, for forming a multiroom session. The BeoMusic App will be able to control the multiroom system. More information would be available around summer time. Regards, Product Management Team"

Here a video showcasing the multiroom-function that I haven't seen coming by in this topic. Seems to work very well. I just hope we can get more details very quickly :) First look at Bang & Olufsen wireless multiroom at CES 2015 from recordere on Vimeo .

  • Re: BeoSound Moment

I still fail to grasp what is different of the Moment in reference to the Essence/A9 2ndG in hardware that makes it possible to distribute sound over NL. The sources the Moment can receive are the same as the Essence can so far as I have understood. Why would one need a Master/Slave-situation in this digital age? (Except for marketing reasons, off course)

I know it's early, but does anyone know more about the multiroom function that is coming in the summer? Will it be only for the Moment as master and the A9/Essence as slaves, or will it be a general update to all three systems? I'm planning a renovation in the coming months and have to make a decision soon wiring an ML-network or let that go in favour for a new multiroom solution :)

  • Samsung offers some competition for the next-gen V1...

Whatever B&O is working on for the next-gen V1, this new Samsung-TV will cause some headaches I think. Very curious which materials are used and how it feels in the flesh. http://www.wallpaper.com/design/serif-the-bouroullec-brothers-team-up-with-samsung-to-reinvent-tv#126855

  • Re: Should B&O start advertising on TV?

In The Netherlands B&O is advertising on national public radio (Radio 1, Current Affairs and opinion, and Radio 4, Classical music), with the slogan "Bang & Olufsen - More affordable than you think". While I commend they are using radio advertising (which I think is more effective than TV-adverts), the slogan is just awkward for a luxury brand that is advertising the Wireless speakers.... Not B&O PLAY!

  • New: BeoPlay Connection Hub

In my mailbox, and on the BeoPlay.com website: B&O PLAY is introducing a new interface connecting "most TV's" to the BeoPlay S8, enabling it to play music, and the sound of the TV. Big question to me seems: does it feature MultiRoom? If so, all my problems are solved and I can finally pull the trigger on buying some new stuff :) And: pricing? Hopefully it's an Essence in another box, with optical-in. " CONNECTION HUB HASSLE-FREE CONNECTIVITY The B&O PLAY Connection

  • Re: New: BeoPlay Connection Hub

I got this reply from B&O customer service right now: " Hello Jaap Thank you for your questions. The release date of the Connection Hub is unfortunately not available yet. However it will be available in the beginning of October. The connection hub is fully capable of connecting via PL-out to other BeoLab speakers. It is imporant to put the speaker in Line-mode if you connect a BeoLab speaker to the Connection Hub via PL-out. I hope this answers your questions. Best regards, Kasper - Customer
Let's hope it allows Beo 4,5,6 Beoremote one, Essence wheel control for the attached speakers!
Unfortunately not, it seems: "The Connection Hub enables IR learning for three commands (volume up, volume down and mute) from a non-B&O TV remote control. The B&O TV remote control does not support IR learning for this Connection Hub." There is however the possibility to set-up a source for fixed volume: "Fix volume adjustment Double press

  • Re: New: BeoPlay Connection Hub

I think the connection is one-way (so Hub regulates the volume of the optical-in). This is a close-up of the connection of the Hub. It looks to me there are three connections: one RJ45 for connection to a PL-out, TOSLINK-in and one 3,5mm Line-in? Plus the RJ45 to connect the S8. BeoPlay S8 - Connection Hub by beoplay , on Flickr Can anyone confirm that the RJ45-connection is a PL-connection and thus can connect to all BeoLabs?
