• Re: Splashy treble and a little rumble - Beogram 5005, re-tipped MMC4

Try upgrade to at least an SMMC3. To truly get rid of sibilant splashy S, an upgrade over an SMMC3 will be needed. The MMC2 was designed for a reason. Also, you will notice that anything lower then an MMC2/SMMC2, you will get quite bad splashy S from about 3/4 of the the record in. Also known as inner groove distortion. You cannot completely eradicate this, but the MMC2 and higher make it a lot less noticeable! I have an SMMC3 and it's very very good, but it does not compare to an SMMC2/MMC2

No, I hate adjusting the tone controls for more bass, as it just makes everything more bass, even vocals. What I want is just the bass to be more sharper bass if that makes sense. Surely the M100 or MS150 would address this? I found this from the website about M100 in comparison to the M75 " Special emphasis was placed on Beovox M100's ability to reproduce clean, powerful bass. That it why it was given a ported bass-reflex cabinet with a 30,5cm woofer" So surely the M100 is an improvement

Yes, they are all working correctly, no problems with them. I just notice they they Bass they produce isn't as deep as I would want. B&O did make the M100's for a reason after all in the M lineup in the late 70's.

I have just done some research into the Cona and I now understand how to connect it. An odd ball question, I have 1 set of M75's connected to my Beomaster 8000. They are great, but really lack low down Bass. I would love a set of MS150's to replace them, but being in Western Australia, they are as rare as hens teeth. Until I finally get my hands on a pair, how would connecting 2 Conas go. Would I notice much difference with them complementing my M75's? Better to use 2 other passive non

Hi, can you explain exactly how to place it inline before the speakers? Whats the exact routing from the amp? Wouldn't you have to have both speaker inputs going to the subwoofer (left and right)? Sorry, If this question comes across as a bit dumb.

I have the current limited edition version on red translucent vinyl. Some of the lowest, if not the lowest frequencies you will ever hear from vinyl. Goes to 25hz on Side 2.
When overall sales are small as a percentage of the overall market, 50% is not much growth!!! That's like saying Rolls Royce is about to take over the auto market because I sold 10 cars one year and 15 the next and no other manufacturer had 50% growth.
No one said vinyl is taking over. But it is a fact that there is a lot of it out there. It was the main music format for decades. The fact that new vinyl sales are on the rise, means that there is even more

Good comments. Yes, no need to have a vinyl vs digital discussion. Both have their strengths and weaknesses. But those that think that vinyl and SACD is dead, well sorry but that just shows that you are not in tune to the audiophile market. A quick browse on one of the major Audiophille websites Accoustic Sounds and you will see. http://store.acousticsounds.com It costs a lot more to develop a good quality new vinyl album and SACD package then it does your conventional cd or digital download.
