Its big, its heavy – but it sounds great – and the picture is still pretty damn good.   Currently in use with a SKY box via an HDMI – Scart adaptor into the RGB scart socket.

Located north of Manchester (UK!) a couple of minutes  just off the M60 – J22

Free to anyone who wants a great looking and sounding Games TV for an early X box / playtation/Wii etc – or even as a main TV

Or maybe a project to update the internal Panasonic panel ?

Silver bezel, 3 leg floor stand  – anyone interested??

I was a user of the old forum, btw – just haven’t moved across until just now.

          Another pic here

I gave away a BV5 and then helped the friend I gave it to, to upgrade the screen to a 43inch 4k LG screen. It was fairly simple and took the two of us about 3 hours. Full BV5 sound and 4k picture.

            Inspired by this thread.

The only issue was it needs the Beo4 and Virgin Box remote for control. But they used both before the upgrade, so were very happy. You could achieve the single remote solution with a Beo4 and Lintronic Box, or a Beo5 /Beo6

Had I seen that thread before I gave the TV away, I probably would have kept it and done it for myself.

I’m interested but I’m not sure I can provide a rapid solution.. I just relocated to the Cardiff area but have no wheels! This BV5 would serve as bedroom tv for me.

I guess a man and a van would be expensive, given fuel costs etc.

I’m not in a mad rush, but hope to see it re-homed in a matter of weeks, not months.  Will stick on ebay or FB marketplace if no one here wants it by late Sept.

Can’t bear to see it go to recycling, its such a good / iconic product.

Also have a Beolab 2000 – fully working with the wall bracket.

Also free if anyone can use it.

                    Hi

I was just wondering if you could help.

We have just bought one of these but can’t understand how to set up a freeview box to it … do you know how to do it ?

                    Hope you can help….

Just a scart to the back of the TV, and select the correct input

If you want to control it using the remote, you need a compatible box and the remnote repeater.

Mine has a SKY Q box fitted, via an HDMI – Scart adaptor, which works well.

                        Bump…

This TV is now on borrowed time.

As above, it works, it sounds great, it still has a decent picture via SKY HD ( albeit not 4k !!)  and it is a real wrench to think it may end up scrapped / recycled.

                        Any takers?
