GOLD MemberI am not sure if there ever was a Beocave/Mancave thread on the older forums, but it has ben mentioned.
So as I got to a point with my Beocave where it is presentable enough to show here.
It is part of our attic room where I have 3m wide and 2m lenght under angled walls so not much to do with:
And a little more closeup of parts of it:
Anyone else?

maybe by connected and useable units per cubic meter, but I guess there are members with way bigger collections 😀
I have made it so the systems can be turned on individually and be easilly linked togheter be it Masterlink or Datalink (MCL is on its way)

FOUNDER MemberThis is a disease! It is contagious but can be treated – strict discipline from wife/partner required! I finished with a linked system utilising MCL,ML and NL all together!
I attach a few pictures – I have given away a huge amount and now just have a few remnants – though am now concentrating on buying the really silly bits!! Beosound 5 and Moment anyone?

Indeed a disease 😀 I have this area for my self though, so it’s up to my own discipline and of course the space restraint if I want to be able to acces the equipment

Some collection you have had which I can also tell from some of your other posts, but the pictures do make it more impressive 😀
As for the Beosound 5 I have one as you can see in my pictures. I still have issues in learning how to control it with the 2 navigation wheels. Personally I do no find it super intuitive, but it might come with time and usage.

FOUNDER MemberI embarrassed to let you know the true extent! However I think I had almost every type of Beomaster with very few exceptions – I didn’t have a 6500 but did have 5000, 5500 and 7000. Equally I had the BC9500 (actually on my third! – fantastic bit of kit!) but neither 9000 or 9300. I essentially stopped audio when they stopped doing touch sensitive controls, only going back for the BC2 with the touch sensitive aluminium – very clever and I don’t know why the stopped this. I have relatively few bits now:
BC2, BC9500, BM4401, BG CDX, BG4000, 4004 and ahem 4001. Also BM/BL 5000 and BG3000 Thorens, a collection of phones though just given Multicare a box full of 6000s. I did have a stupid number of speakers including 3800s with the tulip stands – these are a UK speaker really for complex reasons due to purchase tax. Now have far fewer though do have M100.2s and Beovox 2500 Cubes. Have a fair amount ‘lent’ to friends but don’t want it back. One of my most used items is a Beolit 700 – fantastic device! I have not mentioned the TVs … To be honest, B&O TVs are no longer in my view what they were – B&O used to be all about ease of use and ergonomic brilliance and the new equipment has rather lost that in the pursuit of styling. Still like it and there is nothing else that has taken its place. Sadly my most used music devices are Amazon devices! I did tell B&O that voice control was the most important step forward about 20 years ago but that was before Amazon and Google perfected it. Laughably, the major use of my Moment is to allow an Amazon Dot to play through Beolab 4000s via the line input!
I do have a close typed list of all I had – on three pages! However I am slowly recovering!

Yes the touch controls have always in my opinion been one of the magic things on B&O products. Today with touchscreens on everything it might not be that impressive for many though.

Yeah the limitations on some of these digital sources from B&O has always been a showstopper for me. The only reason I got a BS5 last year was that I could get it so cheap now that I could experiment a little with it without breaking the bank.

Location: Denmark20 January 2025 at 20:18 #62935GOLD MemberMy, Madskap and Peter, now that is a joy to behold! Excellent collections. I only have a fraction of that but already struggle to store my B&O in our house and its rooms. I really like that Beocave in the attic, cozy and full of iconic B&O, with lovely details like e. g. the Beo 4 and BL 1000 MK III (?) held in wall brackets, framing the window and the starship.
I hope I may add some pictures of the B&O I use and have installed in my office at home. It is my working space, but also my own special room to use, repair and test my new and old B&O, for watching movies or sports. As you can see, it is a combination of different eras, systems, speakers and other units of the B&O world.
Adding the rear speakers to the combo:

No BS 5, but I own a Moment. I really like this piece, but sadly, it sits in its box since the tablet no longer works properly.

Also the problem for me with two kids in the house, so the attic is where it is possible, but also limits how much extra I should get

Very nice. I always liked the Beolab 3000/4500/5000 flat panel speakers, and would also like to get a pair, but they are very hard to fit into the attic room.
Can you use the MCP’s with the Beocenter 9500 (is it a 9500?) or are they just collectors items?

BRONZE MemberPeter, I like your Beogram Christmas tree picture!
Great BeoCaves posted here, by the way 🙂
24 January 2025 at 18:14 #63059ModeratorGreat Beocave @Madskp! I am very envious.
I would have commented earlier but I have been very busy domestically, including out looking for a new house in which to create a suitable Beocave! We have been renting now for nearly three years but our landlord recently passed away (died) and his widow has put our rental up for sale, so we may be forced to move. The simple option would be to buy this house but it is just missing that one extra room just for me and my stuff 😀
PS: All the other caves pictured above are equally inspiring!

My B&O Icons:26 January 2025 at 12:40 #63094GOLD MemberVery nice. I always liked the Beolab 3000/4500/5000 flat panel speakers, and would also like to get a pair, but they are very hard to fit into the attic room.
I really love those speakers. The displays are quite a show and at the same time equally useful. Can´t you hang a pair in another room, assuming that you have audio / video equipment not only in the BeoCave?
Can you use the MCP’s with the Beocenter 9500 (is it a 9500?) or are they just collectors items?
They are only recently added pieces. Beginning in spring last year, I looked closer at the B&O stacked systems of the 80´s / 90´s, which I have been ignoring before. I got me some BS 6500 and 7000 components, which are partly in need of repair and have been added to my project list. So it is with the 2 MCP´s:
The 5500 is controlling the BC 9500 (good eye :-)) incl. the BeoGram when using the Control, Source and middle section of the keys. Turning the wheel, I receive always the left and right red signs on the display, and sporadically occuring green lights for sound, but it does nothing. “No contact” will flash after a while. Same thing if I use a BeoMaster 7000 with fitting BeoCord. According to the respective threads, I guessed a defective opto, so ordered one from Danish Sound Parts. This work still has to be done.
The 6500 also controls the BC 9500 in the same way as the 5500. With the exception that I can also control the volume up and down most of the times. Has to be tested with a fitting BeoMaster.
For both MCP the status indicator and the hidden controls behind the lid, like Balance, Bass, Treble, etc., are not working. And I receive the message “no contact”.
Hidden in the upper shelf, which is not visible, is another MCP 5500. This clearly has to be cleaned inside before it can be tested.

Are you sure, is it one room only 😂?

Yes! Successfully contaminated my nephew 😁.
It is contagious but can be treated – strict discipline from wife/partner required!
Also a yes, but it only can be contained, never cured.
I attach a few pictures
Oh my, I only recognized that BeoGram christmas tree when it was mentioned by kirin …. I was too overwhelmed by the sheer number of branches and fruits …. great!

FOUNDER MemberYou are quite correct – containment is definitely answer – however ! The remote that is best for the 9500 is the Beolink 7000! Especially of you have a link room. Just the best remote that B&O ever made.
Had a quiet afternoon so sorted my 9500 system out – added a Beogram 4000 and a Beolab 2 to the Beolab 4000s. Next is to sort out the Beomaster 4401 system – have even found the CD/Tape splitter so can add the CDX!
I confess my least favourite bits of B&O are their modern TVs. Just seem less intuitive that other makes which is so not classic B&O. And the present remotes are too difficult to find one’s way around if low light conditions. Next job is to see how many of the Beolink 1000s and Beo4s are working properly!
