Does anyone know how to activate one of the coloured playlists on the Beosound5 from the remote for N.Music? I’ve added some tracks to both Green and Red, but pressing the coloured button on the remote does nothing. The manual suggests this is possible. Thanks. Rob.

Hi ebnrob, i never use the coloureds list really, but placed some songs in the blue list to test. I pressed the blue button (on the Beo4) and the first song from the list plays. (The BS5 even switched from N.RADIO that was playing to N.MUSIC, and in my case IR commands go through the Masterlinked BC6-26). Does your remote emit IR signals when pressing the coloured buttons? Have you tried other remotes?

Hope this gives a clue to resolve, regards, Johan

          Hi Johan,

Thanks for the reply! I have it connected to an NL/ML converter (set as video master) via masterlink, with no speakers attached to the BS5, which in audio master mode 0. In the same room I have a Core Mk2 with IR receiver attached, and the NL converter is set to connect to the Core as the primary device. This makes the core turn on automatically when the BM5 starts playback – like a video master does.

All the beo4 remote commands appear work from the core, such as changing track etc, apart from the coloured buttons. Same behaviour controlling it from my Beoplay M5 which has a beoremote one BT.

I have just unplugged the ML connection to the BM5 and set it to mode 2, and pressing Green on the beo4 activates the playlist! Very weird.

I can only assume the coloured key remote presses don’t make their way from Network Link to Master Link.

I’ll play around with it some more later. I also have a BLGW so will try various commands in macros to see if it reacts.

          Cheers,

          Rob.

Hello Rob, my attic BS5/BM5 combo is also connected by ML to a BLC (audio slave) to distribute its sources over NL. My living room BeoSystem 3 is also connected to a BLC (audio master) and I can use the colored buttons without problems. This might exclude an NL/ML throughput issue. Is the Core not passing the commands? Regards, Johan

              Hi Johan,

The core doesn’t pass the beo4 coloured button presses for me. Nor does the M5 with the BR1. I will try from my beolab 3500 tomorrow which is connected to a different NL/ML converter – this one will have to traverse ML >NL > ML to get to the beosound 5!

Ive just had some luck with the BLGW macro – this “Generic Beo4 command” works sending it to the NL speaker joined to the BS5:

              Beo4 command?Command=CNTL_REWIND_Green&Destination selector=Audio_source

This command however, using the resource command (default), does not work though:

              Send command?Command=GREEN&Continue type=short_press

It could be that the NL device sends this GREEN command instead of the beo4’s CNTL_REWIND_Green

You mentioned “my attic BS5/BM5 combo is also connected by ML to a BLC (audio slave) to distribute its sources over NL” – do you have speakers connected to this BS5? I’m wondering if your NL speakers can send the colour keys to yours? If so, perhaps it’s the master/slave mode of the NL converter that affects it.

              Rob.

Hi Rob, it sounds you found a possible cause?

This is my current set-up (BL2000 still in the works). BS5/BM5 without speakers directly connected. I do not own a truly NL only device (yet).‎240114 beosetup.‎001

Let me know if I can help with anything.

                Regards, Johan
