  • Re: Beolab Penta, 13cm speaker distortion.

Received the three woofers and they are working fine. Decided to take a look inside at the x-overs. Everyone likes pics, so here we go... Looking at the components of the 'damaged' speaker, that had the blown speakers, I only noticed that R3 on board 14 has a deteriorating exterior. Is this just...

  • Beolab Penta, 13cm speaker distortion.

Hi, Sorry for the long winded description skip down to the CAPATILZED headings if you want to get to the point. I have just picked up a pair of Beolab Pentas locally for a GREAT price. Of course there are caveats to that price. They were shipped to the previous owner from their parents (they had fond...

  • Vintage Surround Sound

Hello everyone, I am new to this forum so I hope I am not asking anything that is daft or has been asked before! I have a decent Onkyo 7.1 surround sound amp running a pair of passive Penta speakers. The mid range on Pentas leaves a bit to be desired! I want to add a pair of rear speakers (must be B...

  • Question about cables for Beolab Penta II Type 6623 to 6500 Series system

Hello! Let me first introduce myself. I am a male from Massachusetts who has been given a Bang and Olufsen 6500 Series system with two Beolab Penta II Type 6623 speakers. However, the owner did not give me the 4 Pin speakerlink cables because they were routed all through the house and would be needed...

  • Playmaker, Penta II or III and Turntable

I'm looking to expand my B&O collection, and I think I want my next set of speakers to be Pentas, however, the majority of music I listen to is either on Vinyl or through spotify. I was wondering if the Playmaker worked with Pentas, and if so, does it work with the displays of the speakers. If...

  • Help Please! BeoCenter 8500 and Penta Mk1

Hi, My first post so please be gentle. I have been given a BeoCenter 8500 and some Penta MK1 speakers. The speakers are in excellent cosmetic condition considering their age. The rubber surrounding the speaker cones on some of the mid range drivers is perishing and could do with replacing. Everything...

  • Beolab Penta II Bass Extension Switch "broken"

Hello everyone, one of my beloved Pentas has a small issue, which is that the small switch for the bass extension is loose and seems to not change the state of the actual setting - you have no resistance as usual and as the other switches have. Does anyone know how to remove the plastic cover and/or...

  • Display issue on my Penta 2's and now amp issues too

I have now installed new surrounds into my penta 2's but the actual display is very hard to read unless you are standing above the speaker and off center. There is a "dial" that can be turned via a small screw driver on the actual circuit board and I assume this is to adjust the contrast...

  • Low volume on BS2300 with Aux cable

Hello Co-members, i bet that this question has already been asked, but I wasn't able to localize it - I'd appreciate any link or hint to another thread. I use a Beosound 2300 with a pair of Beolab Penta 1 and need to use my phone as sound input, since many songs aren't available as CD. When...
