New sonic quality level ....................
Tonight I have been listening to my new total restored Beolab 5000! And I have never experienced anything like the sonic quality level of this restoration. I must say I have listened to a few Beolab 5000’s and I have every time enjoyed the fantastic sonic quality, but tonight the normal high level...

Re: New sonic quality level ....................
The output capacitors are also audio grade quality. I have been reading a lot regarding the improved quality by using audio grade parts, and for some of my work on Quad amplifiers I normally use audio grade parts. That was the reason to try to get these parts for a Beolab 5000 two. First of all the parts...

Re: New sonic quality level ....................
I have now tested the Beolab 5000. The test result is very close to the original specifications, some specification like distortion is lower. If I compare with a “normal” full restored Beolab 5000, tested after the same restoration process but no upgrade to AUDIO GRADE parts the test result...

Privat survey of Beolab 5000 - Beomaster 5000 producs
"Transferred from the archived forum --- I am still collecting these information" I am trying to find out the production qty of the classic Beolab 5000 type 5303 and the Beomaster 5000 type 2005 of 1967-72 . This is possible by knowing / identifying the serial number and the series of the products...

Re: Moving Coil - Beolab 5000 (1967)
Hi Frede, I hope you're feeling a bit better. As I've ordered the Beogram 3000 Thorens TD124MkII combination from you, I may be interested in one of these modules - of course, it depends on cost and availability. Dave.
Hi Dave, Thank you very much ...

Re: Moving Coil - Beolab 5000 (1967)
The moving coil module for Beolab 5000 is build and playing. I am really surprised – the sonic quality of a vinyl record played by a Moving Coil cartridge like the famous Ortofon and my new moving coil RIAA module with stepup transformer (the original microphone transformer from a Beolab 5000)...

Re: Moving Coil - Beolab 5000 (1967)
I will try to explain a little more. I am going to design a box (like the stereo with box). The box will have these inputs: Phono input (for MM cartriges like B&O) Phono input for MC cartridges like Ortofon -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Inside...

Re: Moving Coil - Beolab 5000 (1967)
Interesting Frede. Now wouldn't it be possible to actually use the MIC transformer inside and re-route the signal within the Beolab so that the MC signal would arrive at the input of the normal phono circuit? Not much to do then. Just wiring. Possibly a change of two...

Moving Coil - Beolab 5000 (1967)
Yes - I know this is not of very high interest for most people! But – I would like the possibility to connect a Moving Coil cartridge to my Beolab 5000. I could buy a passive step-up transformer – like someone perhaps already have done. But for me a true Bang and Olufsen solution would be...

The Beolab 5000 of 1967
I have spend some time on a redesign of my Beolab 5000 site. Some new information have been added and I have made an all new design of the site. I am still making changes to the site. BUT............................ I would like to know if there are information which you are missing when you visit my...
