Brilliant! I’m glad they’ve finally admitted its existence :)). Great overview, although I was hoping for more info on products, examples, etc.

And about the part where they say it’ll be delivered to one’s door, I’m not that sure. I have ordered my custom Balance through my dealer and I’d assume it’d be delivered to them first. But I should know within a couple of weeks if they are not delayed. Initially I was told it would take them 6-8 weeks.

I wonder how much more do you have to pay for the bespoke versions?

Exactly! I wanted to ask you the same thing Csaba... maybe percentage-wise compared to the regular price, just to get an idea of a ballpark (it might be, obviously, different from one product to another).

Thanks all, kind of you to be interested. What I can reveal is that I’ve always wanted a Balance with walnut, and I kept getting more and more tired of waiting, and when I first saw the Berluti edition, I thought to myself that that colour combination would be excellent in my home that is filled with white, grey, dark-brown, smoked oak, light oak and walnut furniture that in our opinion mixes quite well and gives a warm, natural atmosphere. So as you can tell I’ve asked if they can make a Balance that looks just like the Berluti version but with a walnut base. My dealer checked it with a guy from HQ sales, and they said they couldn’t do the black tone of the Kvadrat piece but it can be done with a standard textile from the standard Black Oak version. Other than that they could do the silver aluminium plates and the walnut base. I’ve seen a picture of the walnut base itself, and in my view it looked very nice indeed. So I’m excited about the rest.

I have chosen a standard BANG & OLUFSEN logo and no other engraving. Without Google Voice Assistant.

The price did give me some thinking at first. Higher than I’d have liked it to be. Standard price in Norway is 20500 NOK, the Gold Tone is 26500, the Berluti was at least 36/37? My custom one will be 30300 NOK. Not Berluti price, not limited edition price either like the Nordic Ice or Gold Tone, but a custom price, for a custom product they were kind enough to make for me. Even if it is with a minimal touch, I respect and adore the B&O craftsmanship and I wanted to keep it pure. I’d also thought about if I should het a BS2 or a Balance for a year. So I ended up going forward with it. I’m more likely to keep this one than a standard version.

That looks awesome!!!

Will it be on display in the Oslo Sentrum store for any time as an example of what the Bespoke program is capable of? Or will you take it home as soon as it arrives?

I have been very much looking forward to this since I placed the order in mid-September, so my thinking was to pick it up as soon as it arrives. Am I rude, I wonder :). Just didn’t think that’s something the store would be interested in, but perhaps. I might have a talk with them. Thanks for the idea!

I have finally received my Beosound Balance Bespoke, so here come a few more pictures.

Specs:

- silver aluminium disks

- dark fabric (they could not do the same dark as the one used on the Berluti edition)

- walnut base

- standard BANG & OLUFSEN engraving on the front

- dark fabric cable

- box it came in was the box of the standard black oak with a Custom tag on it :)

- confirmed by my dealer that this particular Balance Bespoke was made in Denmark

- order placed on 18th September, received on 6th December, I think reasonable under the current supply chain crisis

The first one is the full "stock" image:

Next, at my dealer's, stood next to the standard black oak:

This one is back home, on top of a bookshelf, with lights dimmed.

Here on top of a commode. The table, the chair in the back as well as the small vinyl stand are all walnut. So the one on the Balance is definitely darker, as you will see on the next picture as well:

Here in another spot, also next to a walnut armchair. Disregard the old wood box, I am going to replace that one with a black marble cube of the same size and height. I was checking room compensation and it actually sounds pretty good even in the middle between our dining room and living room, using the omni-directional sound setting.

Finally, for comparison, the Nordic Ice edition, which in my opinion is also a gorgeous finish for the Balance. I honestly think B&O can work magic with materials on the Balance (as well):

I think it was worth the wait, B&O has done an excellent job! I have also been told by my dealer that they would soon have a sample set specifically for Bespoke, that they can use to show materials to customers. They were also going to order some custom products to demo in store. I am really excited about what options they will offer in the future!

Congratulations - I'm no balance fan, but (and this is the important thing) the Custom programmes ability to allow people to remake the product to a finish of their liking is a really great offering.

I much prefer this option to the 3rd party covers / tweaking that are out there. All very useful and relatively good value, but to me they dont always look very B&O finish wise.  In contrast, the Custom programme allows redressing the product and maintaining that B&O finish.

Well done for taking the plunge and sharing the results.

Thank you all!

Yeah, I kind of like the idea of the "sound sculpture", which applies more to the Balance than the Level or the Emerge, in my opinion. It is also a very good candidate for its mix of materials you can play with. I do love the design of the Level too, but they could not do that one via the Bespoke program for the time being. Probably later though since they were going to bring this to the attention of the design team.

I do agree that it is fantastic that they have launched the Bespoke program. It makes me feel more connected to B&O, especially considering that it is made in Denmark, by B&O, in very limited numbers, and you are not stuck with the gold tone :).

What's even better, the way I see it, is that with Bespoke and Beolink for Mozart I feel so much more inspired to buy more B&O. I never felt this ambitious about it in the past. It is an attractive offering that makes me push for even more.

As for this thread, I genuinely hope to see more outcomes shared by other customers!
