Flatpanels

New television now shown at CES,

The G line is now called G1, and come in the same sizes 55/65/77"

It comes with a new brighter EVO panel, for HDR content

The C1 line now comes in a 83" also but nothing new in the panel, only a bit better processor.

So not much new other than the brighter panel, and that is seems that the design is the same, so B&O do not need to change the Harmony, Eclipse and Contour to fit the new panels.

Beovision Harmony 77" 2nd Gen, Beolab 5, Beolab 17, Beosound 1, Beoplay M3, Beoplay H6, Beoplay Earset, Beoliving Intelligence

As already discussed here, B&O does not have the volumes to ask for a specific screen, they will be "forced" to take the G1.

But as there is a chip shortage, I do not expect the new panels to be on time this year (usually around may). I'm waiting for the new LG HU810P/AU810P beamers but they have already been delayed for Europe. I expect the same for TVs.

The new G1 panel is with in 1 or 2 mm the same as the GX, but as always the webos is different. LG told B&O that for the eclipse v2.

But the chip shortage is a real thing and so is the wait for the software to be apporved

It was similar for the GX launch last year. I picked up one of the first units in to the UK around early May 2020 as I was told there wouldn't be any more for another 3 weeks. Was scarce at launch. C1 will definitely be even harder to get hold of until almost Q3.

Hi,
Any idea of the date G1 panels will be available on Eclipse gen 2 65" in Europe?

Yes, the G1 OLED evo is available both in 65" Eclipse and 65" Harmony. In 77" Harmony, you can also choose the Z9 (or the G1).

Will B&O make a Harmony to accompany a 55” screen size? I am guessing not but if they did, or do, I am ready to buy one. Anyone know?

The Speaker Boxes fit a 65", and the covers can then be 65" or bigger, to fit 77" and 88"

So they would not be able to make a 55" in the current version.

And the sales of bigger screens is the place to be.

So I would guess that it is not going to happen, ever.

If I were you I would consider a 65"

Thanks Emil. A 65” would just look to large and overpowering in my lounge I think. I could risk it but I think it would be overkill and design and minimalism is far more important to me. You want a home to flow, to work, to have good energy etc; not to be drawn straight to a large dominating tv that takes away from everything else.

Have a look at one, a 77” even sits ~10cm lower than a bv11-55 sits of the ground when it’s off. When they’re off they’re really not that dominantSmile

I could do Miki, no harm I guess. My current tv is an 11-46 so how do you think a 65" might compare to that? It's currently right up against the wall on a motorised stand even though I don't turn the stand.

So a bv11-46 on floorstand sits 108.7 cm of the ground & is 109.7 cm wide

a bv harmony 65'' sits 99.1cm of the ground when off & is 144.9 cm wide

and the bv harmony 77'' sits 115 cm of the ground when off & is 172.2 wide.

It's up to you and your room if that fits or not, I don't know your room. But to me this is the beauty of the harmony in that it's very unobtrusive when it's off even for very large sizes. and the difference between a 65'' screen and a 77'' screen is fairly substantial, it's has ~40% more screen size for only a 16cm higher tv when it's off. (while only being 6cm taller than your bv 11-46 which doesn't change height when on or off)

Measure it I would say and or send a picture so we can see what would and wouldn't work.Smile

Beonic Man, why don’t you just try all the versions at home in augmented reality with the excellent app « B&O Experience » from Bang & Olufsen?
