New sw available for M5: 1.24.40905

I have installed it and it works just fine. I cannot see any changes so far to functionality or setup menues.

When I turned my M5 off, I noticed that my

BR1 BT was updated.

I then turned the M5 on again using the BR1 BT, and now I’m able to select Spotify directly Smile:

This was not possible before the update. Previously I had to store Spotify in one of the MyButtons, if I wanted to select it with the BR1

BT.

No updates yet for my M5, Essence, or Core. Perhaps USA has yet to get the updates.

I’ve found this on the B&O support pages:

I then changed the items in my local source list of my M5 (added bluetooth, optical, and line in) and after that, the added sources were shown in the music menu on my BR1 BT.

The resent sw updates to M5 and other NL- speakers seems to have added this funtionality to both the Halo and the BR1 BT Smile.

I guess this is related to remotes updates more than product updates as the local list management exists since a while and is already leveraged by physical remotes such as the Essence remote, as well as by the clever Mac tool developed by TLK

I guess that is why the Moment isn't supported - there are no software updates planned for it.  :(

I really want a stage for my bedroom and a Halo for the kitchen.  But the Stage doesn't support Deezer which I listen to as I fall asleep every night, and the Halo doesn't support the Moment which I use all day long.

It's really a shame that B&O has given up on backward-compatibility.  :(  It was such a strength of theirs for so many years.

My M5 have problems since the latest FW update (october 27). When I started M5 in the morning to join what is played on the other devices in the house the sound is super "choppy" during a minute and the goes silent. Its not possible to add using the app. Restart is the only solution. This has happened the two latest mornings. The list of "critical event" is super long. Pasted example what it looks below, from when I started the device this morning until I did the restart.  I have reported to B&O support.

My M5 is on a cabled ethernet connection, and I have not experienced any problems since the sw update.

I thought the choppiness was a feature exclusive to the Moment.  I guess B&O are rolling it out to the other NL products.

I have been instructed by B&O support to disable the "Bluetooth Always Open", and been asked a few questions around my case. Will see what happens. Maybe I should connect with cable...
