Hi. I've been using a beomaster 7000 with CD deck and tape deck for some years now. Yesterday - it stopped responding tp the beolink 1000. Totally. So I changed the batteries but that was no good. Then I bought batteries for a 5500 control panel which I used to use with it. And it keeps flashing the message "NO CONTACT".

I am hopelessly non - technical but wonder if this is something that might be easily remedied / repaired? Or is it time to buy another 7000? Thanks!

It may be in A.OPT 0, where it does not respond to IR commands.

With the system in standby, use the BL1000 remote to press SOUND 1 STORE.

And hopefully now it will work!

Wonderful, thank you! I have done that and it is all back t working perfectly.  Thanks so much! A great relief.

It HAS revealed that the control panel 5500 is working in many ways but not the wheel thing on the left. It does nothing! It used to - but hasn't been used for a long time. Not that it is terrible ly important - I use the beolink 1000 mostly.

Great news - that's the second system on the forum I've 'fixed' today! Smile

Ref the wheel: This works with a small opto-coupler that senses rotation through breaking a small beam of light - I seem to remember that often they just need a clean inside as they can build up dust and dirt on the sensor.  There are also a couple of small micro switches that sense the direction of turn of the wheel.  There may be a thread somewhere about taking it apart and fixing - I think I did it once!

There's a part 2 somewhere as well!
