For the love of god, go buy the f.... C9 Peter! Its in stock and a quick, painless credit card swipe away!

Then perhaps YOU can do a comprehensive review and world peace would be restored!

As it is right now Google will flatten most of the rain forest to make room for dedicated Peter Pan LG servers...

Did you even consider global warming, the environment and the meaning of life?

Sound quality
AI Sound
One Touch Sound Tuning
Dolby Atmos

The LG C9 might be ultra slim, but thanks to some fairly nifty acoustical research it actually sounds surprisingly good.
For a start the TV can improve the quality of its audio by using the One Touch Sound Tuning feature to optimise the
settings based on the characteristics of a room.

This clever feature uses the mic built into the Magic Remote to take measurements from the main listening position and
analyse the room's acoustical signature. You can compare the before and after optimisation, and there's a choice of
modes: Standard, Bass Boost, and Treble Boost.

The combination of a stand that fires sound towards the listener and the acoustic tuning results in an impressive audio
performance. The front soundstage is wide and detailed. Music spreads out from either side of the screen, effects are
nicely defined, and there's a surprising degree of well-integrated bass. Dialogue is also clear and prioritised on the action.

The speakers are based around a two-channel configuration, but the new AI Sound mode applies psychoacoustic trickery
to take those two channels and turn them into virtual 5.1 surround sound. This processing creates the illusion of a more
immersive surround presence, but within the wider sound staging the dialogue remains focused on the screen.

The C9 also supports Dolby Atmos, decoding the discreet channels in an Atmos track, and using psychoacoustics to
create a more immersive experience. This is superior to the AI Sound feature because the results are based actual
metadata, rather than analysing the audio and applying AI-enhanced processing to simulate a virtual surround experience.

Thus, an eARC compatible AVR surround receiver is an emergency, to achieve true 5.1.4 sound via
receiver's Dolby Atmos decoder, and the LG C9 television synchronized pictures with sound via
eARC / HDMI cable, to / from the AVR surround receiver.

You can also choose from this 'forced' future, and settle for stereo, or 360 degree exclusive mono sound.
Or buy the BeoVision TV, which we each especially like second hand product, and hope it is still possible
to get the updates (PUC codes, etc.) we have won, and then see how long we can deny the development.

Torben Rasmussen:
We do not have WISA dongle or WISA speakers in the test room, unfortunately. Both are a requirement.
However, WISA should be ready from the start, but as mentioned, you need to buy a separate USB dongle
before you can connect to speakers. Flatpanels. - May 05. 2019.

After that reading, I have no expectation to learn the behavior of the WiSA dongle, after Flatpanel's C9 test
of sound section. Embarrassed

Flatpanel's C9 test of sound section. -
The speakers system now have special "AI" sauce that can, in some situations,
widen the sound stage quite considerably. We think that many people will like
the effect, mainly because speakers in TVs tend to be so bad.

Fantastic that Flatpanel could get so many words about the audio part in C9 . Sad

We now know that the sound emitted from an LG C9 TV does not get many points, and if I
want, true 5.1.4 or 7.1.4 channels in Dolby Atmos, an eARC compatible receiver with Atmos
decoder must be connected to reach the target. Read about HDMI 2.1 / eARC pages 39 and 40.

No LG OLED 55 "Signature R9 to Mrs Pan - So then there is money for a larger house. Big Smile

LG says, "that their TV sold in Denmark cannot display TV channels sent in DVB-T2
(H.265 / HEVC) German channels. There is also no DVB UHD-1 Phase 2 tuner in".

On the other hand, they say "that their C9 has built-in wisa and can send up tile 5.1 Dolby
Digital (no USB dongle) and one can then use the built-in speaker as center speaker ".

The latter sounds really exciting. Maybe a new option via update.
