Just had a Beoplay app update with the changelog that said "Adds support for new products". Just went to the add product section and noticed a new wireless Earset option in the bottom right next to the P6. Are these already out? :o

It's on the BeoPlay website.
The original wired earset is more elegant in my opinion.

Totally agree. If they sound anything like the A8/3i, I’m not convinced they’re worth the same price as the E8 either.

It not truly wireless (without wires) either I was expecting more like e8

Would go for an e8 then

I think these will be perfect for me. I simply cannot get on with the H5. I can’t get a good fit and sound quality is disappointing as a result. They also fall out. My H3s are good but are wired which will be an issue when I update my phone.

If these will stand up to gym use I am very interested.

The graphite and brown colour looks awesome in John’s video.

1’ve had the original A8’s for years.

Never got used to them - they don’t fit well in to/on to my ears and therfore don’t sound good (enough).

I wonder if these new ones will be better?

If yes - I’d probably use the original leather case for them ;-)

They look cool and I never really fancied stuffing things in to my ears like with the iem’s.

Think this is an excellent idea....I don't use headphones that go in my ear....hate it...so will be definitely trying these out. Love the brown graphite, very nice.

Nice product, nice review.

Have to check if they are ok with glasses on.

I was using these the other day hidden in the back office and they are a great product. I loved my A8’s for fit and comfort but found them to open to the elements and sound was lost, the new Earset fits in the same way but the drivers are completely different and the bass response is incredible compared to A8 etc. I am a fan! But my choice of earset is now E8 due to the truly wireless concept and on the go charging case.

Nice product, nice review.

I had my original A8's until recently. I didn't find any issues wearing them with glasses, and i don't think I would with these. My temples would just sit on top of the curved arms.

The only thing I can't get over is the $300 price tag. I guess that's the going rate nowadays...

I’m pretty intrigued by these now! The A8s didn’t fit me properly (just like John @ B&O Manchester and Millemissen) so maybe that’s why they didn’t sound good to me. Hopefully these are different!

Looks nice.

I hope they release it in the classic B&O color scheme black + silver, too!
All brown parts in silver will look more B&O and timeless. :)

My thoughts exactly. I went to a local dealer yesterday for a first look (and planning to buy a silver set) only to learn there isn't one!!

But the app no longer works for Essence 1 so, if my logic is correct, something else will get kicked to the curb.

Silver is tough to do in plastic at €300.

Should you not be using the Bang & Olufsen app for the Essence 1 though rather than the BeoPlay app?

Silver colored plastic is easily made... especially at €300. ;) But I'm referring to the brown metal parts. If Bang & Olufsen releases a version with the natural silver aluminium parts of the white version with the black plastics of the black version it would look great.
I tried it with Photoshop:

This is the color variant I'm waiting for! Smile

You are correct. I should have said the Bang & Olufsen app no longer works at all on the essence.

You photoshop people are scary!!! This is an interesting evolution of the earset 2, as well. Plus, now you don't need to worry about them being Chinese knock-offs.

Review of the Wireless Earset from the Verge.

Not pleasant reading.

https://www.theverge.com/2018/6/1/17405290/beoplay-earset-review-wireless-headphones

Does make you wonder about the wisdom of B&O releasing so many products, especially in the headphone space, where there are many competitors.

In reality I get about 2.5 hours from my H5s. I wonder if these will be better.

Mine is only a little bit longer than yours. I really don’t believe B&O still makes kind of 5 hours stuff in 2018. Apple’s own similliar stuff can last up to 12 hours!!!
