Hello BeoWorld Forum,
I recently bought a Beomaster 6500. It plays nicely, but the sound periodically drops out in the left passive speaker terminals. It can be re-established by pulling gently the DIN cables connected to e.g. the CD terminal, and then it plays faultless for another few days. Could it be a relay problem or a loose connection in internal connectors?
I have also noticed that the transformer hums as typical for other older amplifiers. The rubber bushings on the transformer's fixation screws seem to be fine. Is there anything else to do to dampen the hum?
Best regards,
Rasmus
Problem solved.
It was the connector which connects the blue speaker terminal wires to the mute relay. After a cleaning of the connector and pins, the Beomaster plays well in both channels.
