Hi all,

First up I'm new here so hello to fellow B&O owners.

I am just after some advice if possible as I'm relatively new to the audiophile world.

My setup is a B&O beoplay A9 with a project debut carbon turntable connected via the project pre-amp. I adore the sound provided by the A9, for the price it is a huge sound

I recently had to return my a9 for repair as it developed a hiss which was present when no audio was playing too. This turned out to be one of the amplifier circuit boards and was replied under warranty.

My question is, was this just a genuine defect or could it be caused by the turntable perhaps.if I have the line in sensitivity set incorrectly? I currently have it set to default. I am only asking as I don't want to damage my beloved A9 again. Could scratched records / cleaning the stylus whilst live cause the hiss fault I experienced?

Many thanks in advance

Matt

Hi Matt,

Welcome to Beoworld!  The turntable shouldn't usually cause any issues, but if you can please let us know which model of pre-amp you are using, we should be able to confirm this.

Kind regards, Steve.

Thanks Matt,

In that case, please don't worry, there is nothing that could happen at the turntable during normal use that could cause any damage to the speaker.

Kind regards, Steve.
