Hi All
My first post so not sure if I'm in the right place for this question ?
Anyone know if i can get a replacement battery for my Beolit 12
Egon...
Hi EgonYes, the battery is available as a spare part
BeoChecker
Great news where can I get one from
From a Bang&Olufsen Dealer.I hope they are still available.
I was just in contact with the B&O service in Finland and they told me that it shows as an expired spare part... Doesn't some sort of consumer law dictate that spare parts should be availlable 5 years after EOL for consumer products.

Last I checked they were available... at a pretty ridiculous price. I think it was about £140.
I stripped one down (battery) and found the supplier - it's a company in Germany. I emailed them and asked if they'd be interested in making another small run of them (say, 500) as B&O no longer made them, and they didn't supply them to B&O any more.
No reply.
I did try..........
What kind of a battery is it? Provided it is some fairly standard NiMH cells welded in series in some odd physical shape, there are services who can rebuld them. It's not exactly cheap as you could guess from being mostly manual labour, but nothing near £140, I would expect.
Even many Li-ion battery packs can be rebuilt with new cells.

Just a quick follow up, I just got mine replaced at a dealer so they are still produced. Quite expensive though but cheaper than buying a new speaker, plus I really like the wifi option in the 12.
Hi. Interested to know which dealer replaced it for you. My battery has now packed in 5 years after purchasing the Beolit 12 but there are no spares available and I can’t find anything on the internet that would be a direct replacement.
Not anymore!
No longer available.
Battery no longer available. Virtually impossible to find one or even a compatible one.
Specifications of the original rechargeable battery:- 14,4V- 2000mAh / 28.8Wh

Maybe the cells can be rebuilt by an electronics distributor / service company. I remember that such services existed for Sony AIBO robot batteries after production ended.
Hi all, I found replacement batteries for my Beolit 12 and A2 (apparently same part number) on eBay. Including delivery to Sydney was around Aus$50
Aravind Viswanath:Beolit 12 and A2 (apparently same part number)
I doubt it could be the same battery. The one in the beolit would be too bulky for the A2 and the one in the A2 active is way smaller:

If you dont have not already fitted the new battery, would you post some pictures from the spare part and maybe of the installation?
Thank you.
