Hi,

I've recently acquired a BeoMaster 900M. Stereo lamp works, but it take a while to light up. Repeats the warm up process after the cold-start again. I think some caps around decoder need replacement.

However I have trouble trying to pry it open. There is no complete service manual on the web. I take out 4 slot screws at the bottom (for most of the 60-70s receivers the 4 will do the trick), then i don't know what to do. the chassis doesnt seem to slide forward or backwards, in both directions it seemed to be blocked by the case.

I've seen pics of the nakes chassis, and it seems pulling out the knobs or removing any panels are unnecessary. (http://kvdijke.radiocollection.net/en/bang_olufsen/beomaster_900k.html) but the said pic is for 900k the radio version, and mine is 900M without speakers (compact case)

Please advise.

There a couple of different versions, some with 2 screws underneath, others with four.

You should have two further screws on the rear of the cabinet. It should then slide out backwards.

Could you post a picture of the rear of the cabinet?

Dear Ben,

Here is the picture of the back. Can you tell me which screws would I need to remove?

Also my machine has 4 screws at the bottom.

Take off the four round knobs at the front.
Then push gently in on the volume and tuning knob spindles.
The chassis slides out the back.
