Hi All

I have just acquired a BS9000 Mk1 & a pair of Beolab 5000 speakers. The BS9000 is working fine - as are the speakers & displays.

However the BS9000 responds to input via the manual keypad - but not remote. I have a BL 1000 and have entered SOUND - 1 - STORE whilst the unit is in standby. The standby LED doesn't blink and it still won't respond to the BL 1000. I have also tried with a Beo4. Mine is an early version & the display doesn't flash when you press standby & list - but I can get to 'A Opt.' and then press 1. Again no LED flash from the BS9000 & no response from either IR remote.

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks!

Service manual:

1. Glass lid

2. Left aluminium plate

3. Release of sledge

4. Cover for chassis top plate

5. Chassis top plate

PCB14 IR Receiver:

- Carry out points 1 to 5.

- Remove 35P53, power supply for sledge motor, and 26P96.

- Remove the screws for the top plate (C, D, E) (see under point 10), lift the top plate carefully (approx. 2 cm), and carefully pull the top plate a little to the right.

- Remove two screws for PCB14 and lift off the PCB.

If IR does not work probably C9 lost the capacity. I had to adjust the 455kHz L1 and L2 filters several times because they were not tuned.

How did you adjust L1 and L2 ?
