Hello,

Is it possible to replace a CMD integrated circuit with the DIP version (HA12136)?

Thank you.

Best regards,

Gaby

CMD?
If that should read SMD, then - well, yes - you can do it, but it will be neither easy nor pretty.
Why not just fit a new SMD?

And do you really have a defective Dolby IC? That's unusual. What are the symptoms?

Hello,

In fact, I have always dreamed of owning a BEOCENTER. Since July 15, I have one. It was supposed to be serviced but I received it broken.

I had to repair the cassette mechanism which did not work at all as well as the IR receiver.

I realized that the manufacture of the 9300 was different from the 9500 and less easy to maintain due to the small size of the components. In order to keep as long as possible this device I got spare ICs in anticipation of possible future failure. Some components over time disappear from sale. this has happened to me before. I still have to find a HA1236 in CMD.

Unfortunately it is only available in DIP version. What is the method to replace a CMD with a DIP.

Thank you in advance for your advice.

Best regards,

Gaby
