Considering a second hand BS Moment for Tunein, Deezer and a CD collection.

Which DNLA server would you recommend using together BS Moment for a music collection of about 600 cd’s?

Does the system work reliable and with display of all artworks?

Hello Erik,

I am using the moment for quite some years now and I believe that the best option is twonky server.

What you have to bare in mind though is that if you want the artworks to be fetched automatically then you should not activate the advanced option available on the dlna screen of the moment. If you do so you have to add them yourself. If I recall correctly you need to create a folder and then inside this folder copy your artworks with the exact name of the artist that you have your files saved. There is a thread in this forum that explains everything in detail.

Furthermore, you have to keep in mind that in large multiroom setups the moment does not work well with the previous generation products such as beosystem 4, beoplay v1, nl/ml converter. What I mean is that you get sound drop outs. If you are an expert of networks engineering and you have money to upgrade your network with layer 3 switch, better/faster router, maybe create a subnetwork used only for your b&o products you might get it to work better. With more recent products beoplay m5, beosound essence mkii, it works fine.

Last but by no means least there are issues with the screen of the tablet. Quite a few people (myself as well) had problems with the screen and it had to be replaced. It happen twice to me, both times it was out of the warranty period so I paid 430 euros to have it replaced. Make sure that the last software is installed since this is the only version that works without any serious issues. Oh and remember that the pattern-play does not work, as well as the inner circle of the mood wheel which is supposed to pick music according to the "mood" you choose only from the local server.

Moment was a great idea but not well executed. I own one, when it works I just want to buy a second one but when the drop outs happen and you can not enjoy it I feel like selling it. It is a love and hate situation! :-)
