New LG Panels 2021 for Harmony, Eclipse and Contour

What is fake?

Why are we mad for discussing progress in manufacturing and sales of products? A more modern panel that is brighter and in production is easily more optimal to sell from all points of view. Well, I guess the X series are discounted as long as supplies last so it could mean some extra profit for B&O in the mean time.

Can’t see any reason not to be on a flow with a new panel if the form factor is even identical. And as I see it more and more B&O customers are very engaged in the technical aspects. Customers aren’t 80 year olds, it’s tech savvy 30-50 year old people mainly.

Update, just realized you thought I meant people would immediately swap the panel. I don’t see that as very probably. But it is -possible- especially when the screen might burn in or some such. Or course most people won’t update from the GX. But new sales with the new panel seem plausible and logical to me.

And to add to this « quick adoption theory », I just tried to find a LG 65G9 from a TV store with brick and mortar shops here in France (opposed to online shops with clearance products) and it’s not available anywhere.

So even if B&O did want to continue selling GX panels with its TVs, I’m quite sure they won’t be able to do that due to EOL at LG.

Correct, they really dont have a choice.

The Eclipse V1 was special panels that B&O bought in stock, this is not the case anymore.

B&O has some supply arrangements with LG though, in the Netherlands the 48" CX is very hard to come by and still retails at the introduction list price (1.699). B&O dealers have a guaranteed number of panels and don't have the supply issues normal high street shops have with this panel.

They just talked about this in their webcast with the new financiel report.

With Contour they have secured a large amount of LG CX, directly from LG, so they could have a succesful launch.

The bought units will be sold out in the first half of this year though.

A special case that is not going to be repeated if everything goes as planned.

Why? It’s not custom at all. My eclipse v2 was sourced from both a super market and B&O from what I can tell from the shipping labels on the boxes.

There is no need to assume otherwise, it looks exactly the same, both the G1 and C1 compared to GX and CX.

And we are not talking about upgrading, but what the dealers are selling and it would be strange if it is not going to be the new panels, else every dealer had to buy panels for a year?

And about upgrading, it looks like a much bigger step from the GX to G1 than C7 to CX which many on the forum was talking about. That said I am not going to change, the picture in HDR is bright enough for me.

Oh the width of the glass? Well it’s pretty narrow on the gx. It it gets narrower then it won’t look perfect but it will probably not be visible if they don’t manage to eliminate the borders fully.
