Hi All,

Just wondering if using a beosound core will solve the problem of connecting non B&O TV (LG OLED) to WISA speakers e.g. BL17s and subwoofer ?

Cheers

Oasis, the Core itself has no WISA capabilities and as far as I know, someone can correct me if I’m wrong, but no way to connect to a television.

Currently: BeoLab 17, BeoLab 18, BeoSound Core, BeoPlay S8 Connection Hub, Essence Remote

Previously: BeoSound 1 non-GVA

What you may want is the S8 Connection a hub. :)

Currently: BeoLab 17, BeoLab 18, BeoSound Core, BeoPlay S8 Connection Hub, Essence Remote

Previously: BeoSound 1 non-GVA

You’ll need a Transmitter 1 for that.

I personally have a Samsung TV connected to a Core via optical, Core is connected to the Transmitter 1 via Powerlink, Transmitter 1 connects to BL18, BL19 and BL8000 via WPL (Wisa)

An Essence remote controls Core´s volume, TV volume included.

BS Moment, BS Core, BG 4002, BC 4500, BS1, BL18, BL19, BL8000 + RCV1, A6, M5, M3, A1, P6 (tks Botty), H5, TR1

Perhaps an S8 connection hub would work as a one-box solution? I don’t know if it has WISA built-in. Best to Google! :)

As has been mentioned, the Core itself has no WiSA built it. So you'd connect the BeoLab WiSA transmitter to the powerlink output to accomplish this.

As far as connecting to a TV - I use this setup (with a Sony OLED, though) and Control4 so that the Core is both my B&O audio player, but also my TV sound component. I don't know if the BeoRemote 1 BT with a compatible LG OLED would communicate with both at once or if that feature is only for the Stage.

Then you would need to find a way to listen Core sources through the TV

But that was not the initial question: it reads, imo, can I solve the wisa connections by adding a Core.

Core to tv connection: spdif?

Hello, the best solution (to my opinion) is the Almando Multiplay Surround Decoder II. This one has a build in WISA module. (https://almando.com/almando-multiplay-surround-decoder-78.html)

I have this decoder connected to my Samsung TV and works like a charm. All my B&O speakers work in full surround mode. Unfortunately the web page is in German, but if you give them a call the can explain everything in English. The instruction manual is in English.

Correct, I have misinterpreted the original post.

Wisa association just release Soundsend device which is a better answer to the requirement while being much cheaper than the Almando kit. Unfortunately the Soundsend is not yet available in all countries.

Very nice the soundset! did not know this product. In my situation I had to connect a Beolab 7.1, Beolab 2 and the Wisa speakers. So the only solution was the Almando. (as fas as I know). Indeed the Alamando is not cheap.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

I have an existing setup using the transmitter and Beosound essence MKI connected to the TV.

I don’t like the setup and somehow it doesn’t always work and thought the core might be a better option.

the  Almando Multiplay Surround Decoder II does seem like a better alternative. Will look into it.

Not sure if this works but for the not Wisa enabled speaker you could use a WISA receiver. I have four of hem for my back speakers (BL3). If this makes sense form a budget point of view might me a diffeent question.

But also seeing the pricepoint and size of the device from the Wisa organization, it can not be that hard to integrate it into a stage.
