Hello,

Wondering about how the sound quality, loudness and general audio fidelity is compared between these two systems.

I have a pair of Beolab 8000 connected to a V1 40 in my bedroom and I am considering shifting over to an LG oled + stage and need to know if it will be good enough on its own. Or if I should just keep the current setup.

Beolab 50, Beolab 8000 x 2, Beolab 4000 x 2,
BeoSound Core, BeoSound 9000, BeoSound Century,
BeoLit 15, BeoPlay A1, BeoPlay P2, BeoPlay H9 3rd Gen, BeoPlay H6, EarSet 3i,
BeoVision Eclipse Gen 2 55", BeoPlay V1-40,
BeoCom 6000 and so much else :)

Two rather different solutions - each to its own with their pros and cons.

If you are happy with the current setup, why worry?

Who knows what will come later from B&O!

There is a tv - and there is a BV.

Two rather different products that will serve the same purpose yes.

I am happy with it but I am having new furniture fitted and need to know if I will keep the Beolabs or not.

I just want good sound and if it can be good enough from a stage or a stage gen 2 then why not.

The contour is on its way but I believe it will be too expensive for that room and I can have a little more flexible solution in there (also want more than 48”)

I love my stage. It has a very good sound, strong bass and I appreciate the diversity of the sources.

Thanks! I realized that it seemingly have better speakers than the eclipse or even the harmony actually. Just not as strong s for the woofers (but it has one more!).

It also has a bunch of tweeters where the eclipse and harmony has only one. On the sides those have one full range speaker but the stage has that and tweeters. So the sound should be more beautiful from the stage.

Same goes for the avant series that also had the full range speakers on the sides plus a tweeter per side.

I wonder why B&O moved away from that. Cost? Stage is 1/5th of a soundcenter so probably not. If eleven amps can be fitted with more speakers in a box for 1000 euro.

I have the Stage + LG setup and know the Beolab 8000 from my uncle's place.

The Stage sounds great and much better than you'd expect from the size and price. The soundstage is very wide and the bass is pretty punchy, though there is a lack in very deep low bass. It's a bit hard to compare them to the Beolab 8000 because I only listened to music on them a couple of times while I do TV and music 50/50 with the stage. I'd say the BL8000 give you the real stereo feeling, sound a bit more airy and has a more defined midrange response, noticeable when listening to acoustic / songwriter music. The stage seems to be the more complete package and better fit for an all-round TV setting though. If talking pure quality, some may prefer the sound of the BL8000 but it's hard for me to compare them without keeping in mind the many flexible use cases you have for the stage.

I'd say: If you don't need the surround audio processing in your bedroom for future upgrades then the Stage will be an excellent fit. It also looks great with the LG OLED and is a very space-savy

I have both and as others have said the sound is different. The stage is great and I personally think it sounds fantastic with more than enough bass, however you are physically limited by the width/height of the bar (like all soundbars) so you don’t get that true big wide & high soundstage you get with the 8000s or any separates to be honest.

The stage is a perfect all rounder and does the movies, tv and music to a very high standard and would rather match the stage with a tv than the 8000s - they just can’t compete with the 8000s for music so I use them as music only. Don’t get rid of the Beolabs - just use them somewhere else!!

Tuxian, Sycamore, just now listening to ‘Mad rush’ which I’ve seen performed live by Philip Glass just a kilometer away at the Malmö Symphony and it is almost as mesmerizing now in the beolab 8000s.

On the TV I have a fire video showing. Weird combo maybe but I am assembling IKEA furniture for the room and I have to agree the sound is so nice. Actually haven’t had them plugged in since I moved five years ago. They’ve been standing here ever since though!

Been considering for long to replace the tv with a newer model but now listening I actually love it. My friend and I was sitting here last Friday drinking wine on my bed and she asked me why I hadn’t connected them, half an hour later we decided to actually connect them and both loved the better sound. This room is very much used as a lounge and music room when I have parties (usually other music than the living room) so having the good speakers is not a bad idea.

However, the stage would be more subtle perhaps. But then again, beolabs are a classic. Thanks again for your comments. I do agree that the midrange is really nice and the stereo image and sound is really nice.

(This is my other pair of beolab 8000 by the way, I have another pair in the living room as surround speakers but rarely listen to those in a typical stereo sound setup).

I’ll send a photo of the result later :).

I have a Sony OLED and my option was to use a Stage or BL 8002 + BL 2. I also have a Core so my connection is using optical from TV to Core to BL 2 to BL 8002. In my experience, the BL 2/8002 combo has much deeper bass and can get very loud and immersive. The Stage has a much wider soundstage but the bass is not nearly as deep. Like others have said, it depends on your needs. I decided to go with the BL2/BL 8002. Without the BL 2 and Core to help the BL8002, the Stage wins - no contest.

B&O in my life 😊:

  • Beolab 8002 + Beolab 2 + Beosound Core with Essence Remote (Office)
  • Beolab 6000 + Beolab 11 + Beosound Core with Essence Remote (Bedroom)
  • Beoplay A9 Mk2 (Living Room)
  • Beosound 1 with wireless dock (Portable)
  • Beosound Balance (Dining)
  • Beoplay H95 (Focused listening, travel)
  • Beoplay H9 (3rd gen) (retired)
  • Beoplay P6 (Portable)
  • Beotime wall clock (hallway entrance)
  • BMW X5 50i with B&O Audio Package (Commute/drive)

Agreed.

We had BV11 46 with 8000mk2 and 6000 mk2 as rears.

Now testing the Stage and C955, it is a brilliant set up.

Don’t use the BR1 as Got SkyQ but have set up others with BR1 when not using SkyQ and it’s works perfectly.

Sound is great and the family just prefer everything off of the floor and less clutter.

Must admit, don’t really miss the other set up apart from the looks of the BV11 and how neat it looks with the speaker all built in.

The Beolabs seem better and better. I think they shall stay a bit and then we will see in the future :). I do love them and they dont make anything bad anyway. Maybe I should refoam them though so they last longer..

And as I already own them, there is no extra cost to think of. Should I replace the V1 then I can use them very simply with more or less everything but I can't get the BeoRemote One feature easily I guess without a Stage (if using a non-B&O tv)
