Hi all,

My Beotime has recently gone silent after over ten years of daily use. I gather it's likely to be a loose contact, but according to the forums it's a tricky repair,  so I wouldn't fancy it.

But I love the way it sounds and really miss it - does anyone know who might be able to do a repair, or at least advise on how to open it up? I'm guessing the 'trumpet' needs to be pulled or twisted. But is that really so???

Good morning!

Did you have a look as Lausvi's 21 Sep post here: https://forum.beoworld.org/forums/p/189/289561.aspx#289561

And just to add further, the service manual is on this site (for Sliver/Gold members) and it does explain how to take the BeoTime apart.  It is much more complicated than simply pulling/twisting the trumpet, so please don't try that!

Looking at the instructions, it is similar in complexity (and care) to replacing screens on the older iPhones.

Hi, thanks for the quick response!

Yes I saw the various threads on this, including one in German which alas my rusty German wasn't good enough to translate, but I think he was in a similar boat. The diagram was useful tho'.

I've not done any phone screens although my son has on an iphone 7 so maybe I should ask him!

And no, I'll leave the trumpet alone. The flute is in excellent condition and I don't want to spoil/damage it. How does one get silver membership? It would be useful to look at the instructions, if nothing else.

Thanks and regards

David

How does one get silver membership?

Go to the 'Main Site' via link at the top of the page.  Then look top right, and the second link below the LOGOUT button will take you to Upgrade/Renew Membership.

You have to pay a small fee, but it's well worth it! Smile

(I meant to add:  iPhone 7 is relatively straightforward - if he really wants a challenge try a 4 or 4s!)
