It is about branding,

No they will not earn money on the new Beogram 4000C,

But it create awareness and they need it.

If not they are not going to sell headphones and soundbars.

Beovision Harmony 77" 2nd Gen, Beolab 5, Beolab 17, Beosound 1, Beoplay M3, Beoplay H6, Beoplay Earset, Beoliving Intelligence

Best case it is cheaper than an usual marketing campaign as they will earn some money from it.

Moreover it is a nice experiment for B&O.

They have gained some R&D experience as “Mr. Tonemeister” was involved in studies about the RIAA amplifiers and other turntable related stuff.

Maybe in the future we will see more vinyl related products and/or limited edition/remastered products.

Just a personal guess.

I doubt that this is the case.

He described how he nerds with RIAA amp and the different RIAA curves used in the past....out of personal interest/for building one for himself.

It would be interesting to hear what Geoff's input was if he was involved!

Complete restoration of a classing system. No added stuff... No wireless stuff...

Jack: Ok, but the tip?

John: Same as you, Soundsmith…

Actually I heard from reliable sources that the pickup is a top of the line Ortofon pickup, not just a refurbished MMC1. I guess we will see.

/Weebyx

Guess my source was not correct, specs on website say SMMC 20CL. I wonder where this source(B&O dealer) got Ortofon pickup from ?

What a "damp quib" after all the hype?

It looks as though it was designed by commitee,d'oh!

They could'nt really improve the aesthetic design of the '4000,and would have been  better advised to keep the essential aspects of that, but improve with modern materials, the performance and reliability(imho)

As other's have mentioned,it's principally a marketing exercise, and I imagine that the vast bulk of the produced 95 will end up with Dealers and speculators, and be rarely used and enjoyed.

Counter, you would think to the B&O ethos?

As with the reproduced Jaguar E.Type sports car, which all seem to have dissappeared(into crates to appreciate?)rather then being driven and enjoyed?

Perhaps another member here will stand me corrected and mention that he has just put his £1m Jaguar E.Type through the car wash(argh!)and regularly pops to the shops in it too?

Regards,

Nick

I don't know if this has been posted before, but whenever vinyl is discussed this alway comes to mind.

Particularly relevant for the Beogram 4000c

Hi Beoworlders,

B&O have agreed that I can give the following press release, which I am excited to share Cool

The level of craftsmanship and attention to detail that showcases Beogram 4000c and makes it so special is also evident in the connecting cables that are included.  Sounds Heavenly were proud to be asked by Bang & Olufsen to create a range of audiophile quality cables to allow Beogram 4000c to be used with B&O's new range of Wireless Multiroom speakers, as well as with any audio system.   As we are music lovers and professional engineers, designing and assembling our cables is treated with the same care that is used when creating a work of art.  We wish Bang & Olufsen every success with the iconic Beogram 4000c turntable!

Kind regards, Steve.

Congratulations Steve! That is recognition very well deserved.

News like that is worthy of a post of it's own.

I hope B&O don’t go down the path of audiophile cables nor for that matter audiophile anything. People go to B&O to get away from the crazy audiophiles and their obsessive audiophoolery.

Hi,

Please don't worry, in this sense, "audiophile" is just another word for "music lover".  That was the intent when using the phrase in my press release.

Kind regards, Steve.

Hi Karel,

Yes, the Beogram 4000c includes 3.5mm and twin RCA cables, so you can plug the turntable directly into Beolab 50, Beolab 90, Core, or any B&O wireless Multiroom speaker with a 3.5mm input (eg. M5, Beosound 2, A9, Balance, etc), as well as into any non-B&O audio system.  Linking into a Core or B&O Multiroom speaker makes the turntable audioble on any other Multiroom speaker around your home.

Kind regards, Steve.

Honestly I did not expect anything else from you.

But it is important not to use the ‘audiophile- bullsh*t-phrases’ from a/the marketing department, when promoting Bang & Olufsen products.

I second the concerns of seethroughyou!
