Hi all,

I'm torn between buying a LG CX 65" with a Stage and buying an Eclipse. I'd much rather have a Beovision Eclipse standing around with the possibilities it gives me, and I could even keep using my Beolab 3's.

My main problem is, that I don't really wanna buy and 'old' Oled panel and be stuck with HDMI 2.0.

I already own a Loewe Bild 4, a TV that has only caused trouble and disappointment, since I bought the damn thing, so I need an upgrade that can last me for many years to come and be better than the Loewe. I do own a PS4 and will indeed get a PS5 (maybe even an xbox) and own a AppleTV. Will also need to hook up my turntable.

A B&O store in Denmark told me, that a new-updated Eclipse would surface later this year, however, can I be sure, that it'll happen? And if so, with HDMI 2.1 and maybe even a new panel?

Will appreciate any thoughts on the subject.

The GX would be used to hide cables. The power cable is not possible to hide on a CX.

Which would not look very good on a Beovision.

Beovision Eclipse, Beolab 5, Beolab 17, Beosound 1 Google assist, Beoplay M3, Beoplay H6, Beoplay Earset

Still not sure whether that makes the GX mount flush to the wall or not though

I hope so, though I concede it doesn’t matter to everyone.

Since the only real benefit of the CX glass is for improved gaming - its actually less good than Eclipse V1 for movies - the primary development areas would be the pass-through of better sound support, eg. Atmos. But that would be a lot of dev work and I'm unsure they have the budget. But lets see. The shift to HDMI 2.1 will make it possible.

How would CX be worse?

Brightness across large part of spectrum.

Well, I guess a new panel would mean updated HDMI-inputs nevertheless.

Definitely but hard to say if the SoundCenter will have support for Dolby Atmos yet or not. It would be awesome.

Nice! Seems like they found a simple yet effective way of using vesa as a means of fastening the screen. Probably making future exchanges easier too. Have you any more info? Where did you find the photo?

And this now looks like my plan of using my 55" GX with the stand/soundbar, more realistic, if it's just a custom back part. My guess is that B&O won't ship the panel (ie. won't stock it) and will leave dealers to buy off-the-shelf parts to combination with the stand/soundbar.

I'd be very very surprised if they don't go with that option. No point B&O HQ shipping the entire setup when a dealer can simply slot in the GX panel themselves.

Question is, how much would this save me? The stand + soundbar will still be £5000-£6000 I'd assume!

I found it on the Danish forum Flatpanels,

Sorry no more info.

But I would not expected much else have changed.

Anyway it looks good.

Hallo Moxxey,

Yes this will defintly be the case.

But as I have understood the Soundcenter will raise in price.

So not cheaper than the current Eclipse.

Anyone know if there's a 48" version on the way?

In this world nothing is certain... but there will not be a 48" Eclipse... from what I understood just an update to the current version

Hi all

i had beolab 3 and told would not fit to new stage system

That's correct, the Stage is a stand alone sound bar.

It would fit in to the Eclipse sound centre.

Hopefully one step closer to being able to get the soundcentre & stand to put my 55 CX onto (fingers crossed).

Just waiting for a B&O dealer callback .... im guessing he was waiting for this to come out ...
