Hi,

Can you give me some opinion about HT5700/5702 with passive radiator. It's really hard to find something about it. Only short note in Beocentral and here... but when I try to find something about M70 , M75, M100 I can read that 5700 or 5702 was one of the best sounded Beovox.

Hmmm... Hmm

Trumpet stands episode 3

When my friend called that, the stands are ready, I was in my car in 2 seconds. I couldn't wait until tomorrow. So I'm in the paint shop and my jaw dropped.

My jaw dropped second time today, first time when I listening 3800.

When I listened through the SS amp, the transistors gave Beovox 5702 wonderful sound but my tube amp made the vocals backwards and hid somewhere on the stage ...

because I have 3800 bought for trampets and I renovated it: https://forum.beoworld.org/forums/t/42671.aspx

I conected to amp and at the sight of Beovox 3800 vocals ran back onto the stage and sang with great power and energy. The sound of the guitar that accompanies Mark Knopfler voice at brothers in Arms again got that claw that falls under the skin.

I like 5702, do you think that problems can be in 5702 xovers ?? If you remember 5700 were 2 types of crossovers. My is this older ( maybe the only ones that were in 5702 ) with impedance pick - red one.

tube amp is very sensitive on impedance changing and maybe when I change crossovers to 6253 type, my 5702 will sound better ??

This year Santa came earlier Big Smile

Now I have twins :

and one extra M100.

All last day and half night I listened and compared sounds from these beautiful speakers.

and from the first sounds in my head I had one question: Who the hell called the M100 the best of Beovox !!!

You listen to M100, then 5702 ... and you think someone finally pulled the blanket off the speakers and it started to sound. Here are some differences:

- Hi tones have more details on 5702 and larger range

- Mid tones in 5702 sound great in M100... this is perhaps the biggest failure

- Low tones, yes M100 have stronger bass but this bass kill rest of sounds, in 5702 bass is enought strong and with harmony with rest range.

- Scene, in M100 you have right speaker and left speaker, when listen 5702 you have 3D scene and speakers disappear as a sound source.

After my first listening, my friend, who has always wanted the M100, also came to listen to these speakers. When finished called the M100 a "great disappointment" ( maybe he wasn't objective because he has 5700 ) but... today one owner of the M100 also decided to listen to 5702 for the first time and said exactly what was written above and that "he lived in great ignorance thinking about the greatness of the M100"

Between 5700 and 5702 the differences are insignificant, both models have different crossovers, I think in favor of 5702 ( very little stronger bass).

I also know the 3800 sound which is close to 570x. Maybe the speakers have less power, but the sound quality, fullness and harmony also beat the M100 at 100%.

So how is it with the M100 ?? A urban legend ??

At the end, about the sound source because it can be important.

A 2 x 50W class A tube amplifier personally transformed by Lukas Fikus (Lampizator). Beogram 1800 (5213) turntable with RIAA preamplifier from Martin (@Dillen) and digital files through Musical Fidelity DAC.

but the same result of the comparison were on the NAD, Beomaster 6500 and Ayon Spark tube amplifiers.

This year Santa came earlier:

Now I have 570x twins and additionally M100.

I spent 2 days and one night listening to these speakers to compare them

and let me tell you one thing ... who the hell called the M100 the best of Beovox !!!

Here are some differences:

- High tones, 5702 sounds clearer, higher, more detailed

- Midrange, the 5702 is beautiful on the M100 ... that's probably the biggest problem

- Low tones, yes, the M100 sounds more powerful, but this bass kills all other sounds, in 5702 it is sufficient and creates harmony

- Stage, the M100 has a left speaker, a right speaker, 5702 is 3D, the speakers disappear and we are surrounded by sound

- Higher efficiency 5702, play louder at the same volume level

It is my opinion but after this a friend of mine who had always wanted the M100 to listen to these speakers came and put it in one sentence "M100 is one big disappointment" and noticed everything I wrote above. The third person to compare these speakers is the owner of the M100. After listening, he stated that "he lived in a bad awareness that the M100 is the best Beovox", "I turned on the M100 and then the 5700 and it sounds like someone took the blanket off the speakers which muffled the sounds"

I also got to know the Beovox 3800 sound. Yes, they are weaker in power, but the quality, coherence, harmony and range of sounds also beat the M100.

So how is it with the M100 ?? A urban legend ??

And it's not that I'm trying to prove I have the best speakers. Currently I listen to music through Infinity, which I will not talk about in this thread. I just transferred my and 2 other people's impressions to this post. I also have recordings comparing both speakers on youtube.

At the end, about the sound source because it can be important.

Hi there,

I haven't heard the 5700, but compared many of the Beovox. I still have M100s and M75s alongside S45s. The M series are not very efficient. That is true and makes comparisons hard at times. You always need to crank up volume a bit to end up at the same level of volume as with the speakers you are comparing them to. I did my comparisons with a Quad where you can easily switch between speakers. The M series are balanced speakers without any weakness if you ask me. All other speakers I have listened to were less balanced. I find the midrange on M75s and M100s not lacking at all, by the way. From my point of view that is their particular strong point if anything to be highlighted. However, the S75 and S45 are also great speakers in their own right and not to far away.

Greetings,

Kai

Of course, I equaled and changed the volume level, I made comparisons at different levels, adjusting them to the connected speakers.

All these differences to the disadvantage of the M100 and the advantages of the 570x were heard by everyone who listened to them, from the very first sound.

And yes... the M100 has a middle tones but compared to the M70. Compared to the 570x, middle are hidden. This is not "this" forum, but if I am to talk about balance without losing sound, I would point to my Infinity. They play full tones like 570x and they are neutral. I cannot name a winner between my current 5702 and my RS, although the RS certainly have stronger bass.

Hi Martynka - really enjoy this thread and I love that you have compared the speakers that I have owned with the ones I now own (5702 and M100). Also that you are using Tube amplifiers - I have tried tubes with my M100's and only one was powerful enough but it gave out too much bass. I was dissapointed with the M100's as they semed to lack oomph, but i discovered that this is because they are difficult to drive. Recently i bought a refurbished Quad 303 and this made them sing compared to anything else I tried so I am keeping that for the moment as a system.

You've done an amazing job on the speakers - I wish I lived closer as would love to compare the speakers in person - maybe you could do a YouTube video? - now I am off to search ebay for some 5702s again!

Hi - that would be great - look forward to seeing it.

By the way - have you recapped your M100's?

Hej.
