Greetings,

I have just acquired a Beogram RX turntable. I have a few questions if I may...

The table functions perfectly but the tonearm drops too quickly onto the record. I have fixed a couple turntables which require damping fluid in a cylinder and piston setup. Is this a similar situation? Can anyone give me instructions?

The top plate, which I am assuming is brushed aluminum is loose. It seems the only thing keeping it in place is the buttons on the left. The plate can be lifted up away from the buttons and moves freely. The only thing keeping me from removing it completely is the tonearm assembly. Any thoughts on this?

When I first turned the unit on the platter was scraping lightly underneath. I quickly figured out how to remove the platter and adjust the suspension which solved the problem. However I am not sure I am setting it correctly.

I have yet to find a service manual online. I have searched quite a bit. Does anyone have a link or can share a service manual with me?

Thank you from a B&O newbie.

Hi Newbie,

the up and down is without damping fluid (but there is a bit of grase). But no worry, the tone arm is very light.

Did you try with a record on? Otherwise, you must have used the TURN function, and then the puc is scratching (safety switch).
