Looks like the writing on the top is part of a protective sticker. If I had to guess, that's maybe a touch control surface.
Not sure I get the point either.... considering the existing lineup.

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus.
After seeing the pictues: not impressed. But as with a lot of other B&O items the last years I will have to see it in real life...

So, I figured out that the display base (in the pic of the black one) says "MULTIROOM", so we're looking at an ML product at the very least. And with the current lineup, I bet we're looking at about a $1000USD product here. Given that the BS1 (with charging base) would be roughly double the price, that might be where the target market might be, though this Balance doesn't look to be the most portable of speakers... with the M5 just above the halfway price of what this might be.
Kind of a tough call. Even if the sound was on par with the BS1 or 2, looks alone,... well, if folks are already throwing around the "IKEA" word, then, there you go.
Well it’s a Beosound product, so guessing it’s powered by a cord. It’s only the Beosound 1 there’s got a battery in the Beosound line right? And all Beosound lineup is multi room right?

Personalky I’d wait with any ’opinion’, until I have experienced it a couple of times.
First impression from the pics.......it blends perfectly in to the current range of multiroom speakers/Beosounds.
