Beogram 5500 on its own

Hi everyone

Sorry if this has already been asked - i couldn't find the answer when I searched the forum.

I am about to buy a Beogram 5500 and want to know if I can operate it on its own and not part of a bigger B&O system.

You’ll need a DIN to RCA adapter and an amplifier that has a phono input or you can use a separate phono preamp with an amplifier/powered speakers that don’t have a phone stage. Sounds Heavenly has an set up that takes care of all of this and Steve will answer your specific questions about the intended setup.

I’ve even run one of these turntables to a Bluetooth speaker for fun.

Yes, it can be fully operated on itw own.

Obviously it won't produce any sound unless connected to an amplifier and speakers.

Exactly- Phonopreamp to a Bluetooth transmitter and then tucked both out of sight. Sound quality was obviously less than if wired but it did make for a furniture showroom’esque room setup.

Tried a few, this one was low cost and works, from amazon. I wouldn’t say I recommend it for high fidelity Beogram vinyl listening but for background music via Bluetooth, it is adequate.
