If you want to use the Stage in place of Beolabs, why not use Line-in?  The older master equipment AUX port is both in and out (at least my BS9000 is) to support tape-decks.  Otherwise, I bet Steve / Sounds Heavenly has a cable that will do this.

Thanks!

I heard the Stage too - it is quite impressive.

And the control of the unit og the Stage and the LG C9 seems pretty fluent with the BROne - feels like a BeoVision.

The same feeling I have,

The integration with the Stage is great, not as integrated as the Eclipse and Harmony, but very well indeed and great for a lot of people.

The Harmony sounds great, and yes a step up from the Eclipse, it will be a great music player for a lot of people, and even better if you add speakers.

My only concern is if they have produced enough to take advanced of the hype, I really thing that the Stage will sell in big numbers, and the wood version is just beautiful !

Haven't been able to go to a store yet... How do you guys think the Stage compares to a BeoLab 7.1/2?

It is not really the same,

But to answer short yes, I think that the Stage have much more control, and a tighter bass then the Beolab 7.1/2

The Beolab 7.1 have better volumen because of it size, but dont have a dedicated center channel as the stage which help in much more clear dialog.

I'm seriously considering the Stage as a standalone speaker for the living room. Looks good, decent price, and hopefully sounds good and, of course, you can stream direct to the speaker from your smartphone.

As a standalone device, anyone know how it compares? I'm assuming A6 or perhaps BeoSound 2?

No much more, more like a set of 17's but more spacious only slightly less powerful at the extreme top end of power. It's kinda hard to explain, but it's very impressive. I have a video up on YT and another one will premiere live tonight at 20.30 AMS time, so that would be 19.30 UK time Smile

I have now heard/seen the Stage in two shops.

Still amazing!

However the presentation was in one case not that good (might be different at a different time of the day etc).

And in my opinion they ought to expose the Stage a bit more in the shops....I suppose it is a product that the dealers and B&O should really focus on in the coming months.

In one instance they had mounted two (different) Stages under an LG tv - which looks kind of odd (imo).

Wouldn’t it be better to show them seperate with one wallmounted and one on a shelf under the tv?

How are your experiences with the presentations of the Stage?

Do they show it with the BROne control etc etc?

By the way, in one shop they had a Harmony with the 50’s as front and the Shape as surrounds - which was breathtaking.

Beware - as good as the Stage is - please don’t get the Harmony demoed right before listening to the Stage 😉

That would definitely ruin the fun with the Stage.

Since the BS Stage is a Dolby Atmos enabled soundbar, it might be interesting for some to dig deeper into Dolby Atmos for soundbars.

This article is already a couple of years old, but provides good background information:

https://www.dolby.com/uploadedFiles/wwwdolbycom/Content/Gutter/dolby-atmos-for-sound-bar-applications.pdf

Would be interesting to learn more about how much B&O has tweaked this technology - where the B&O ‘sound design’ adds something to it.

(How about a Technical Sound Guide for the BS Stage).

Would it not mate with the 12-65?

I supposed it depends on how much wall space there is available. I’ve only been to one so far but have seen John’s store too and in both cases presentation was very good. Where i did the video, b&o ter horst, it all looked excellent. Was right available near the front and looking good. In my specific case i more or less knew everything about it already and for the videos i was just handed the beoremote one and off i went. Works flawlessly from what i can telland very responsive. Same goes for the Harmony, looks and sounds incredible, it’s much better in real life than you can ever get it on a photo. I would say if you’re thinking of getting a beosound stage to get your orders in quickly, i have a feeling this will sell as quickly as it’s available, seriously, you won’t be disappointedBig Smile

Would be potentially overkill. The BV12-65 centre + BL3s + BL11 is a very excellent combo. Really unsure a Stage would add to that? Maybe a better 'centre', but marginal. The Stage is more of a BL 7.2 replacement like the centre speaker you used to have under a BV7.

No, I was thinking of using it elsewhere as a simple wall-mounted speaker. Just looks decent and good value.

I listend today at my dealer in Amstelveen.

Both the tv (Harmony) and the soundbar sound amazing.

The tv is to big and quite a lot of money for the soundpart but the soundbar is really worth the € 1500,-

I like the lg oled 65 a lot so this soundbar is really an addition for this set up.

Thinking along the same lines, the Stage could be a great speaker solution in some audio-only setups or secondary rooms. I see two audio-only places in my home where it would be ideal to replace ageing Beolab speaker pairs and I am quite tempted actually.

But then why, oh why, did B&O not include a PowerLink connection?

I understand how the Stage is primarily positioned. I also understand that B&O is moving away from audio masters (or servers/steamers/whatever you name the old Beomaster/Beosound concept today) and therefore the concept of PowerLink is becoming outdated. But would that have been so complicated or expensive to include a PowerLink connection? Why on Earth did B&O decline to offer the option to use the Stage as a Beolab?
