Dear wise BeoWorlders

I am searching for a solution for my bedroom were I would like to listen, to radio and maybe internet radio.

Right now I have a BeoTime alarm clock, but no Beosound/Beocenter/Beovision to wake up with it.

I have found a couple of solutions that could be feasible, but I am still not certain of what the ideal solution would be.

Right now I am tending to search for a cheap old Beosound 1, that suits my need for radio listening and IR-control.

Another solution would be to search for a Beovision 8-32, which could be bought for next to nothing here in Denmark, then connect a radio-tuner to the phono-input. But I know myself well enough to know that I would be irritated that the screen turned on every time I wanted it to play a sound-source.

I have also been thinking of the BeoPlay A1, because I don’t have a portable bluetooth speaker, but it doesn’t respond to IR-signals, so the BeoTime becomes obsolete Erm...

And the only way I could see it function as a clock-radio, would be if the 3.5mm jack could trigger the speaker to turn on. But I haven’t been able to find out if it does work like that.

What are your bedroom setup?Sleep

The small 26” tv’s came as Beocenter as well including radio tuner if I am correct.

I just last week picked up a BS1 cd/radio myself, but being a portable device from the 00’s it is actually quite a beast in size and weight. But plays like a charm.

I agree with Christian above.

I have myself a beocenter 6-26 used as Radio (with internal tuner), multiroom audio with an Airport Express on scart, and VOD with an Apple TV on DVI.
I wake up with radio, live with multiform audio and go to bed with any episode of a TV show or movie. Simple, elegant, no cables (2 actually, hidden).

I’ve had a 26” a couple of years ago, but found the size a bit too small Erm... And I still haven’t made up my mind if I would like a tv in my bedroom.

But how does the Beocenter respond if you turn the radio on? Is the screen backlit, or completely turned off? Huh?

How does the Apple TV work? As I recall the Beocenter/Beovision 6 can’t decode HDCP-material? Huh?

Oh! you're right sorry. I'm using an Apple TV 1 with kodi (with an Atv Skin which make me sometimes forget the layered tricks). Apologies for the confusion.

As for you other question : when radio, the screen is On showing Station, Preset name and RDS info. Mostly dark image overall.
And if you wonder, when in mutiroom audio mode, the screen is in Picture Mute Mode, which turn of the panel and the backlight.

But I believe that the timer inside the BC will make your beotime useless for triggering the system.

Smile I have been through that show before and that hassle ain’t worth it, if you ask me, even though the Beovision/-Center 6 can be bought for peanuts...

I might just end up with a Beosound 1, when the right deal strikes. It’s a large unit but I think it has aged well, maybe because the CD-drive is hidden whereas the Ouverture/2300/2500/3000/3200 and the Century has the Tape-deck and the CD-drive in the fascia.. Smile

Maybe, but here, no hassle at all. I "choose" ATV1 because I'm attached to local storage. All the other function are perfectly controlled with a Beo6, to avoid remotes over remotes and everything works flawlessly for quite a long time now without the less hiccup, even that chinese bluetooth emitter for a BT headphone. And, you're right all for close to peanuts. But it's true it suits my really own needs.
