That is my hope during the CES exhibition in 2019, we will
get clarity on whether this has undergone an update.

How did that ‘Center’ speaker get there?

Sorry - I don’t see anything that indicates such thing.

Please be a bit more exact - where do you read that?

Torben Rasmussen:
For previous comment: It is just reference to the number of units, so two base units and 4 tweets,
but it was based on how their other models have been so far. Looking at exmy own TV, it has 3
tweeters and two subs on the back and it is also indicated as 3.2 and LGscurrent Atmos models
are indicated by 4.2 channel Atmos speakers (see examples E8 and G8). It is a rather artificial
way of naming it, since the woofer does not make sense in itself and the tweets can hardly be
categorized as an entire channel.

But as the news mentions, there is a speaker somewhere in the booth. I think it's in it upper part
of the frame and then maybe have some base at the bottom, but we must see that. It may also
be that it is even wilder :-)

Nor do I find it more in the text that Torben refers to. ;-(

This stereo center speaker can then also be referred to as 4.2 and it plays well. Yes - thumbs up

Torben Rasmussen:
LG has just released this -
“LG Display will introduce an 88-inch 8K Crystal Sound OLED (CSO) display with an advanced 3.2.2 channel sound
system embedded into the display. The sounds which emanate directly from the panel reach new audio heights, and
when combined with Dolby Atmos®, this acoustic innovation enables viewers to experience dynamic sound coming
from their top, bottom, left and right. This cutting-edge 8K display brings a whole new level of realism combined with
unrivaled picture quality to viewers.”

LG Electronics probably also supplies a LG TV with sound in floor Stand . Otherwise, it
may end up with the TV and surround receiver that provides individual replacement options.
Now HDMI 2.1 / eARC must be fully implemented in TV and receiver. It's about to happen.

Kind of ‘old news’, but the WiSA Organisation of course is at CES to promote their solution (and the enabled products).

It is funny, though that this - which some see as a killer feature - hasn’t even been mentioned by LG, who is said to have WiSA Ready built in to their new tv’s.

Maybe they will save the goodies for later........or maybe they don’t pay as much attention to it, as B&O/BeoLab owners would wish for.
