You need IP cameras that do:

H.264 / H.265 - for recording with low bandwidth to the NVR

MJPEG - compatible with BLGW but I believe H.264 is now compatible too...

RTSP - URL needed to put into BLGW

👍🏻💯

Kiran is correct in his answer.

The BLGW supports now, with the latest firmware, H.264 compression.

Almost every IP-camera can be connected to the BLGW. Have a look at this site: https://www.ispyconnect.com/sources.aspx

Suc6!

Thanks Kiran and Beohut, didn't realise the latest release supported H.264 so should make it a lot easier to chose. Will look through the ispy link and see what looks good.

Any brands in the UK that are recommendedover others for external, internal and NVR? Thanks

Toby

Don’t use a third party NAS to record. Use the camera manufacturer’s own NVR to enable full functionality of the cameras.

The future will always bring APIs from NVRs to home automation brains.

Get cameras that can provide multiple streams at once.

👍🏻💯
