And is it showing RDS ? Yes, and does it it work from another room other than the room where the BS7000 is? Yes.

It can set the clock, it can do timer programming and so on, and all the different pages look exactly like the original remote.

Link and Recording is not done yet, and other small stuff is not done either, but it is quite cool, and it works :)

Does the iPhone also flip up when used as BL7000?

BTW , it looks great !!

I'm still on iOS 8 on a jailbroken iPhone 6 if you need a beta-tester.

I do have a MLGW to if it's needed

This is very, very cool - I can`t believe it !!

I still have a Beocenter 9500 for testing and a complete BS7000 and a BS4500 (one way) ...

It is not totally finished yet, but it all revolves around an Arduino with a bluetooth module the app talks to. The Arduino is the man-in-the-middle regarding sending / receiving IR signals :)

I am in the process of updating my webpage with info on the HW and what to do, but I am also in the process of moving, so I do not have as much time as I would like :)

More to come...

I'm really interested in this project - are you picking up the data via the datalink, or are you capturing the two way IR traffic? Either way it's really impressive. Out of interest where did you source the information on the communications protocol? Is it published or did you reverse engineer it?

Reverse engineering of IR protocol, nothing  is public available :)

Is there some feature of iOS 10+ that you're actually using?  Support for iOS 8 might be worthwhile (if "free" from a programming perspective) since often it is the old devices that are cast aside for use merely as remote controls.  The iPad Air and iPod Touch 5gen driving my Logitech Harmony Hub are running the Logitech app under iOS 8, for example...
