Oh wow, I would have estimated it at 1:18 or 1:24!

A former colleague of mine is a member of a slot car club and as he retired he invited me and my other colleagues down to see it and have a little race against one another. Great fun! Big Smile

Thank you Henrik! Glad you finally managed to find and bring a SC80.2 in rosewood home. Nice touch with the matching cooling fins behind the Beocord Smile

Once again, prices are very different depending on countries: when people gives away Beovision Avant in the UK, people can ask up to 500€ here in France. Or 1000€ for an Ouverture, etc, etc… And a lot of crazy prices I can't remember just right now!

Here in the USA I haven't even found one. I have found SC80's, SC60's, MC40's and Attyca's but no SC80.2's.

Picked up a Beogram 4000 yesterday including a MMC4000. Should light up when connected to the mains, but haven't tested it yet. The pickup looks fine looking at it with the naked eye, but time will tell. Read through Sonavors BG 400x projects thread yesterday - great info and I had a quick look at the cartridge tab and am happy to report that it looks to be flawless.

Added a little piece of foam under the arms while transporting it. Pickup was taped to the side of the foam, but I could probably just have let it sit mounted on the arm. I didn't inspect the tap until I got home though, so better to be safe.

A design icon. Smile

The turntable looks excellent but the dust cover appears to be a replacement from a Beogram 4002/4004 model. The original Beogram 4000 dust cover has more of a bronze tint to it. The later Beogram turntables used the smoky tint you have here. The Beogram 4000 dust cover also has printing on the left and right sides of the aluminum trim piece. That shouldn't affect the appreciation of this turntable but it is just something to note.

Maybe I'm wrong but I believe that the bronze smoked covers go on wood finish devices and grey smoked covers go on white finish devices.
That was something I discovered and had to take care of when gathering my Beosystem 1200 (Beocord was wood so brown cover, Beogram was white so grey cover).

On all of the Beogram 4002/4004 turntables I have seen they all have the grey smoky tint.  All of those turntables have either the rosewood finish or the teak finish. The Beogram 4000 turntables I have seen all had the bronze. In this case you can also tell by the metal band on the dust cover. The lettering does not look like the lettering I have seen on other Beogram 4000 units. Should someone want a modern replacement dust cover for a Beogram 4000 they may be able to get one from Frede Kristensen (Classic Audio).

Wow, well spotted guys. Cool

I had noticed, that the model number was missing on the left side, but not investigated further. Maybe it was one of the last ones made before the 4002? Like you probably know, they made quite a few changes during production of the 4000-series. Serial number is 185439.

Thank you for the info on the replacement dust covers. I think I can live with the missing lettering and different color though - a new dust cover and metal band would cost almost 5 times what I paid for the Beogram. Wink

Yes, enjoying the Beogram 4000 does not require the original dust cover for sure :-).  If you bought it to enjoy the turntable for what it is (a great machine for playing vinyl) then I think you bought it for the right reasons.

How does its cartridge mounting connector look on the tonearm?  Those a very susceptible to breaking so be gentle with it.

Very nice BG4000 - I have one as well, waiting for some minor repairs.

I bought a small box of parts from eBay:

What's so special in here you ask? Well, at the bottom there is an MCL2AV (came without the top cover), I already have two, but why not have one more :) The brick on the top is the 15V transformer for it (anyone else think the cable leaves from the wrong side?)

But the two items in the middle are the interesting bits:

This is the original transformer for the Beolink 7000 floor stand AND the LCS7000 IR transceiver/BL7000 wall charger. Which is the round IR puck in the picture! Mounting the BL7000 on wall sounds a bit risky, though...

The previous owner had used ethernet CAT5e cable for the transceiver/charger, I'll be replacing that first.

Nice piece of kit, Lausvi. Quite rare I believe!

Don't think it is more risky having it mounted on the wall than having it on a floor stand, as they can be knocked over; don't ask me how I know...

Just make sure to mount it at a height where children and dogs (and I) can't reach it. Stick out tongue

Just came home from DK could bring a BM 1000, it has been stored by my youngest son for some 3 years since I bought it. Connected it to CX 100s, changed voltage to 130V, turned it on, all lights on, volume OK, bass a little hard, tuned different stations OK, connected an antenna, more stations. Its one of few I have that worked right out of the box Big Smile

It is oak and very close to mint.

When i told the lady who sold it,that i collecting b&o she asked if i was interested in a transistor radio.I couldn`t say no.

It was very dirty but after cleaning it was almost like new i got batteries in it and it works 100%

Hi Søren.

I haven't tested it yet, the seller told me that it needed a new belt, the pick-up looks fine.

And thanks for last time, i hope we can spend more time together next time you are in Denmark 😊
