Apart from a B&O technician, the only other way to update is via WISA (i.e. Beolab transmitter 1 I am pretty certain is capable of SW updates for speakers; or, and this is pure speculation, could speakers be connected via WISA to a beovision and a SW update can be pushed via the Beovision?

Please if anyone finds out about what specifically changed with the SW updates (especially in light of elephant's question).

Have you had any more instances of ARMAGEDDON, elephant?

How did you do that/how was it done? My bl18’s are wired, so should i connect them via wisa? I have no issue with them, but am curious. Is there a way to revert back if anything goes wrong?

If you have the Transmitter 1 go to https://www.bang-olufsen.com/en/product-support/accessories/beolab-transmitter-1

The webpage has instructions and the software update.

I have the Transmitter 1 and was able to update all my Receiver 1's via the instructions and the software update.

Sounds like it’s almost worth buying a transmitter 1 for just doing updates Unsure

To update your speakers you will need either a Transmitter 1 or an installer with the service tool to plug in directly to your speaker for the update.

I have got two BL 18, one BL 19 and a BeoSound Moment. As far as I understand it is only possible to update via the Transmitter 1 or the Service Tool. Or is there however an option to do it via the BeoSound Moment for the Speakers? Smile

Have great day everybody!!!!

When I first connected my 17s to my moment (? March last year) the Moment interface notified me that it was updating their software. So, it seems there is some mechanism for connected products to keep the speakers up to date.

I have been told by a B&O technician that the TV (they are now connected to a BV14) updates their firmware but not the entire update package and that the only way to ensure you have the entire update is as already mentioned here.

That is, via technician with service tool or Transmitter 1 loaded with appropriate software.

Would be interested if anyone had further info on what the TV or Moment can update in the speakers...

Cheers

Scott

Because the B&O representatives are watching BeoWorld, why do they not appear for a question like these? Maybe the sheep are in their own stalls. If your dealer is 100s of kilometers away does this mean you may not get new software updates? B&O are importantly an online company now like so many others so they should be able to provide an online solution.

If a TR1 can do it you would expect any WISA source to be configured to do it !
