"So what's the difference between the different BeoSound 9000 versions?

The MK I model is not upgradeable for N-Music

The MK II model is upgradeable

The MK III has a different CD mechanism and PIN code security. The glass plate has also undergone several updates as the earlier ones tended to come

Types:
Mark 1: 2522, Mark 2: 2562, Mark 3: 2572
 "

(quoted from http://archivedforum.beoworld.org/forums/t/19488.aspx )

Kind regards, Steve.

I have a white Bsnd 9000 - one of the Ltd edition numbered models.# ( inc box).

I'm considering selling it - it has been wall mounted in the same place since new, and gets little use nowadays, other than the AUX socket to play spotify.   Seems a shame so perhaps time it went to a home where it could be used as intended.  Will be sad to see it go, but it is not being used.

Any ideas as to the value of these things?    As I said earlier - mine from new, got the box and a bracket, its in pristine condition.

Sorry to correct.

Both mk1 and mk2 uses the same software. Both versions need the latest available 2.21A software for N.Music/Radio functionality.

If  I remember correct the partnumber for the MKI and MKII upgrade is the same, but the softwware is different, since the hardware / processor  is not the same.

The software comes as eprom and is changeable with basic electronic skills.

There is a major limitation for the MKI version: There is only support for OPTION 0,1,2.

For the MKI  version  there is no  functional need to upgrade because PHONO maps N.RADIO and A.TAPE N.MUSIC. It works fine with Beomedia and even with Beolink ML/NL Converter through mapping. PHONO eg. starts TuneIn and A.Tape Deezer.

The upgrade changes the display for Phono and Tape but SAT stays SAT and does not turn DTV. :-(

Hardware slightly differs on the mainboard, but the actual processor is the same. Only the connection between the microprocessrboard and mainboad itself differs. Mk1 has soldered pins, whereas the Mk2 has a flatcable.

Mainboards can not be interchanged though.
