I kind of like it. Still not convinced about the black area under the speaker though.

In the flesh it looks much better than the photo. the black area does make sense design-wise, particularly when the tv is off. Then it looks as though the screen and glass are all one piece with a thin speaker suspended across the front.

I wonder how that can be wall mounted?

The angle must be rather small, not the 90 degrees of the previous mounts - more like that of the BV7, I guess.

Yeah I'm not being too judgemental, real life viewing or a fuller set of pictures on the B&O website is required.

Sure it will look fine wall hung - depending on what you're coming from, but I guess with the new non-flat design, you gain something with the thinner screen profile, and lose a bit of aesthetic with the protruding speaker.

Why the wider speaker I don't quite get from a design point of view, but again maybe will look OK in the flesh.

My initial reaction would be that the BV14 and BV Horizon stand out design wise! Looks like a Chinese imitation of a BV7, not really a showcase of B&O design.

Hopefully I stand corrected when seen IRLSmile

On this picture it looks very strange. This part of black glass when it is on, the height of the speaker, make the design looking unbalanced.

I wondered that, too. Also, when you come into my living room, you side the side of the wall where the BV12-65 is mounted and that sits relatively flush. The first thing you'll see is a wafer-thin panel and a speaker sticking out from the front.

When wall-mounting, I'd prefer a much thinner centre speaker, much like the one on the BV12-65, relatively flush to the TV, then flank the TV with a couple of speakers.

How will the speaker be with the 65"? ---- Wider or the same?

Yep. My dealer said that they were blown away by the speaker and they reckon people won't need additional speakers - it's that good.

Not sure at first glance... I do like it somehow, but I can imagine it looking more aesthetically pleasing (to me) with a black speaker fret. I don't think the aluminium quite works. Looking forward to seeing it later in the week. Very happy that we finally, have OLED, HDR, to the edge border screen with a great sound bar and remote! My goodness it took them a while to get there!

OK the speakers are good, great or whatsoever but the design is not.

I am pretty sure the soundbar will be enough of annoyance to me while watching. I cant even stand the look in the picture.

The BV7  or Avant look 1000 times better. The problem is that the design isn't easy on the eyes. Very unbalanced IMHO.

Now I can see the design makes sense when you view its alternate use case: Music centre !

I hope in that mode we can display high res cover art !

They could have added some real B&O design magic by having the speaker at the very top of the TV when switched off. In this way, if you use it as an audio system just the speaker becomes active and plays content, with the B&O logo (for example) subtly centred and lit in the middle of the screen below. When you then change to TV mode, the B&O logo fades, the electronic curtains open and the selected channel fades into view; simultaneously, the speaker glides slowly from the top of the screen towards the bottom, with a low backlight on both sides behind the speaker and hey presto, you're ready to watch TV. You could set the speaker positions (1, 2, 3 corresponding to top, middle and bottom) in the same way previous BVs have operated. Where's the creative thinking gone? There are so many interesting design possibilities, it's just a matter of a little thought outside the box - literally! Honestly! I can't help but feel human beings overt think things when design is just a little bit of imagination, nothing more.

Man it does really look a little disjointed with the bar, unsure design wise who knows might just be a bad angle. Again the tvs do tend to look better in the flesh but personal opinion a little unsure on the design.

Design weakness is the constant feedback we are all expressing. Frankly, When I saw the real picture, I could not take my eyes off the big Soundbar distracting from the display which should be the star of the show.

The issue on top is the value proposition from pricing point of view. If the design was as good as we all expected (at least the ones who have expressed their reservations on the design), I would not hesitate to pay the asking price but now I have to balance the Design weakness (IMHO) of B&O and tasteful designing of Sony / Loewe and then bring in the price equation... it has become harder to lean on the B&O side on Eclipse.

I am all for sound and most of us on the forum already have some impressive B&O sound in our homes. I was personally not looking for more sound but the great picture to go with my soon to arrive BL 50 (My current BL 5 will also play their role in the setup).

I have not totally given up yet. Still awaiting the real life viewing 65 inch and possibility of the 77 inch Eclipse, if the design looks better on larger screen. If all else fails, there are decent alternatives.

The only thing that bugs me about the design is how high on the floor stand the Eclipse is placed. I'd prefer a stand where the TV would be further down, a lower standing setup, such as in the sketch from Recordere. It would also make cabling more attractive – with the Eclipse so high, there'll be quite the snake of a cable sock running up to it.

I wonder what kind of stand options will be available... I guess we'll know in the morning.

Didnt the cheese grater look kind of die out years ago with the old Mac Pro computers?  If only I could get an OLED BV14 at 65 inches.

Have to wait for more pictures to be released but I think the speaker is a bit much at first glance. Would have been better as a monitor only with integration connections.

To be honest I think I prefer the LG W7 futuristic type design when operating in the 7k+ price range but for me personally I am leaning towards the Loewe Bild 5 monitor only with the wooden bottom, I would argue the design is almost as nice.

What will be interesting is if the soundbar is really that good, beolab 20 level, this could be a great all in one solution for most people.

The sand is not that high, slightly less than two of my fists on top of one another. Also the cables come out the top, near wear the stand connects if that makes sense. Its easier to hide than with an avant for sure.

That's a really nice idea. But I guess the additional cost could be a challenge.

I like it in real life. Aluminium speaker fret is drilled and matches the BL19 very well.

I was going to say the same thing - I think the black fret will blend in better with the black glass beneath it. Aluminum stands out too much.
