But do we have more information about the Beosound Core?

I cannot seem to find a manuel.

In the new pricelist it have taken over Essense MKII which now must be AOL.

Beovision Eclipse, Beolab 20, Beolab 17, Beosound 1 Google assist, Beoplay M3, Beoplay H6

What kind of preamp would you use to drive 4x BL5?

What I would like to know is if all this BL50 magic isn't 90% due to the room compensation feature.

If you run 4x BL5 from a Beosystem 4 you will have sound spread all over your room, in all directions as they are very wide. If you run the same setup from a preamp with Dirac Live, for example, the sound will be much more detailed.

I've tried this configuration in my 7.0 setup (1x BL10 4x BL5 and 2x BL8000) and the improvement was very impressive. Still I'd like to hear a pair of BL50 for comparinson.

WOW. Just WOW.

Saw and listened to the BL 50s at Sheffield B&O this morning. They sound absolutely incredible. I'm lost for words (well almost). Such clarity and precision I'm struggling to think how much you could improve with the BL90s. I got a minute into my first demo song and wanted a pair. They are bigger than I imagined but look amazing. Fabulous design that oozes quality and craftsmanship. The moving lens is a very nice touch and really does impact the sound when moving from wide to narrow mode.

If I had £23k to spend (or a little bit less according to Nick) I'd order a pair now. Right now.

I can only echo what Duels experienced. I heard them in the Bournemouth dealer this afternoon. Incredible. The build quality is fantastic.

Picture with 50's and a 14-55

Had a 45 minutes demo of the Beolab today. No doubt more versatile and digitally advanced than the Beolab 5 - but not by that large margin that some have suggested. Especially really impressive  in Narrow Mode. Unfortunatly I wasnt able to choose the music, so a bit unsure about a few details. As for Wide Mode, I found it sub par compaired to the Beolab 5, quite clearly so. I will give the Beolab 50s some slack though, as they were less ideally placed in a allmost not acustically treated room. ARC will only bring you that far, no matter what a few members here seems to advocate.

Excited for the day I get to listen to them but disappointed that every time I see them, I can't bit help think they should really be laser etched on top with the word BRABANTIA.

So now I have a problem. I've fallen in love with this girl and just have to have her! She may be an expensive *** but when you are in love you don't care.

She will haunt me now til I have her!

You do have a problem..... because I'm in love with the same girl.

But it's ok because they can clone her so there's more than one. Good job too otherwise it would have to be pistols at dawn.

Can someone confirm the price in the USA?

40k$ Net  a pair is very hard to believe compared to europe.

I know that huge price differences between common between countries but nowadays most luxury brands stay away from that unless there are local taxes or import tariffs

Just to spell out the math, 27000 Euro a pair minus 20% tax concerted to  USD is 14000$ difference. Thats offensive Bang&Olufsen

This is the press release from what appears to be Bang & Olufsen North America.

If true, the price is outrageous.  I figure I would have to pay close to $45000.00 USD which includes sales tax of 9%.  There is intense price competition in the US and Canada.  There will be few buyers at this price.  I hope it is a mistake.

Don't worry I'll ship you a pair to the USA 😀 Sold a few pairs of 18s and 19s to the states since the £ pound has been so weak...
