Successful!!! Sound output to outsid via beo link passive amp.

connect Apple TV via HDMI cable sound & video via TV all working fine!! No audio via Amp to outside speakers! Suggested to connect as above but with optical audio out of Apple TV to Digital Audio to digital coaxial converter & connect to SP/ DIF in second bank  altered input on Beosystem 3 for Apple TV to Audio input SP/DIF But no Audio output from Beolink Passive Amp !!!! Switch over to Sat & sky audio on TV & Outside via Passive Amp switch back & select Apple TV input & audio & video on TV but no Audio via amp to outside speakers!!!!

tried power down & repower of Apple TV but no luck

As I understand you need analog sound for your outside Speakers (=link room speakers).

See this for example: http://forum.beoworld.org/forums/p/8466/74636.aspx

Ralf

Living Room: Beosystem 4, Beolab 7-2 (Center), Beolab 9 (Fronts), Beolab 8000 (Rears), no Subwoofer. Screen: Sony KD-85XH9096
Home Cinema: Beosystem 4, Beolab 7-4 (Center), Beolab Penta 2 (Fronts), Beolab 4000 (Rears) and Beolab 2. Projector: Sony VPL-HW55
Home Office: Beovision 10-40 on STB Bracket wall mount. Beosound 9000 MK3 on horizontal wall bracket driving Beolab 5000 Speakers
Bedroom: Loewe TV with Beolab 6002 and Beolab 11 (all white, wall-mounted)
In storage: Beolab 5000/Beomaster 5000 (1960s).

You'll need a DAC for the optical out of the ATV to a R/L analog input on the BSys3.

Only 'analog sound' can be distributed to the linkroom.

I use this small box for many years without any problems for sound distribution in my masterlink system:

http://www.amazon.de/Konverter-Wandler-Digital-Toslink-Koaxial/dp/B005H5JTMI/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1442401735&sr=8-2&keywords=konverter+digital+zu+analog

BTW: With the new Apple TV 4 this is not possible anymore because ATV 4 doesn't have an audio output anymore. Very sad indeed.

Then we will have to use a 'HDMI audio-debedder' instead.

there is always a solution ;-)

Sorry - the device is called 'HDMI audio de-embedder'.

Hello MM,

I think this one would do the job:

http://www.amazon.de/Ligawo-®-HDMI-Decoder-Audiosignal/dp/B00ADJIVB8/ref=sr_1_21?ie=UTF8&qid=1442413289&sr=8-21&keywords=hdmi+analog+wandler

But I also think you will need the new remote, even if there will be a PUC update available.
