Since seeing that video on youtube, i also have wondered how it's done.

A while ago I had a cheap supermarket DVD player connected to my Avant. Switching on the DVD player turned on the Avant, I don't recall doing anything other than assign the scart socket in the set up menu.

I have since replaced the Avant with a BeoVision7 so I can't check it for you.

I have a Pinnacle ShowCentre attached to the DVD Scart input. When I switch on the ShowCentre my Avant either turns on or changes over to DVD.

I think you must have Scart cables that are fully wired as the signal is transmitted over one of the pins.

What do you mean by "fully wired?" does this mean the connector has to have pins in every single hole?

Not only all the pins, but the pins should be all be wired through to each other.

Just search for scart connections with your favourite search engine.
