BeoCenter 9500 No response, no Boot and no standby light after normal use

Hello to everyone in the forum,
Unfortunately, I have a problem: a BC9500 I recently bought has now completely stopped working.
I fullfilled a childhood dream by purchasing a used and well-kept BC9500 and i was able to enjoy this great system for about a week. Then, while I was listening to a vinylrecord, the unit stopped responding to controls. Neither touch buttons on the unit itself nor any commands from the remote control produced a reaction—no volume adjustment, no power-off, nothing at all. So, I unplugged the power supply and plugged it back in after about 10 minutes; I heard the usual relay sounds while startup, but there was no standby light and no way to turn it on. I disconnected the power again, waited a while, and plugged it back in, but now—unfortunately—nothing happens at all; no clicking, nothing. Since the unit is in such great condition and otherwise works perfectly, it would be a shame not to be able to use it anymore.
I’m asking if anyone is familiar with these issues and can give me a advice on where to start troubleshooting and what needs to be done. Unfortunately, I have absolutely no experience with repairs (aside from minor things like changing doorbelts / tapebelts on an Ouverture), so I’d be grateful for any advice! If anyone can recommend an expert who could do such a repair in western Germany (north of the Ruhr area) or in the German-Danish border region, I would appreciate a recommendation. Otherwise, i think i'll try it myself.
Thanks for reading, and I appreciate any answers or suggestions in advance.
Hi, can't give you any advice on the issue at hand. But I recommend

Hi Torsten, I do still have a faint hope of being able to do the repair myself, maybe with a advice from the Forum . But it’s good to get a recommendation like this, since reliable Repairshops for old B&O-Gear seem hard to find here. Thank you! Regards, Max
It's a bit of a guess but perhaps the stand-by battery has failed.  There's advice on the forum, and I can let you have a picture of where to find it if required. You could try the battery reset procedure even without replacing the battery - it's in my post here: https://forum.beoworld.org/forums/topic/beocenter-9500-restore-keyboard-leds-partly-not-lit/#post-61370

I just tried using the reset function while keeping the old battery (seemed to be ok), but unfortunately, there was absolutely no reaction to entering code 1271 as Guy wrote in the linked Thread, and the unit remains completely dead. However, when I plug in the power, I notice the CD laser moving slightly and a very faint humming sound coming from the power supply area. When I unplug the power cord, the drive's laser arm moves a little bit again, and I can hear a relay click softly. Maybe that could be a starting point? Unfortunately, I don't know how to interpret the service manual, because I lack the technical knowledge... Thanks anyway for your input on this. I’m just hoping that someone might recognize my error description and perhaps already has a solution ready—after all, you shouldn't give up so quickly. Regards, Max
Hello everyone! Great news: I can enjoy my Beocenter again. I reached out to a local (former) B&O dealer—the very same place where my father bought his first pair of Penta speakers back in the late 80s. I had reassembled the unit (putting the top cover back on) and planned to take it in for repair, but—would you believe it—it’s working again! I just hope it stays that way. Maybe it’s due to a loose connection or a crack on the circuitboard? But I think I’ll just leave as it is for now. If anyone happens to need a B&O specialist for equipment from the 80s and 90s, I think I can highly recommend "Bild+Klang Schilling" in Münster—even though, in my case, I didn't end up needing the repair after all. Regards, Max
