Is there any talk of the BS3 being upgraded for HDMI 1.3 and ability to decode the High Definition sound formats ?

I know that there some problems with some no BO monitors for use with BS3. Do you think that BS3 goes well just with panasonic plasma d9 series? Our Service Centre in Melbourne say that a software update from 2.7 to 3.1 for the BS3 would not make an Apple TV remote controllable unless specifically added into the list during the upgrade.
