  • Re: A8 headphones, cable split

I probably had every iteration of the A8 (kept losing them). Those are authentic. In fact, the earliest version I had, simply had some sort of rubberised band around the area where the cables split off, which pretty much just covered the cable to prevent it from splitting further. It honestly looked like it was just some shrink-tubing. The pair you have in your picture is a later version, in which there is a sort-of molded square split guard. The last pair (the ones I still have), have a molded Y

  • Re: Beolab speakers for live music?

I swear that I read somewhere, in some article probably tucked away in the deepest part of the net, that the Beolab 9's were designed specifically with music production in mind - or at least they were modeled after studio monitors.

  • Re: BeoPlay M5 ?

Reading Engadget's review... https://www.engadget.com/2017/01/05/bang-and-olufsen-beoplay-m5-wireless-speaker/ ... and I found this interesting. " The compact speaker's acoustics are capable of both beam direction and beam width control thanks to a new version of the technology from Bang and Olufsen's luxury BeoLab 90. " I think this is the first I'm hearing of any reference to the BL90, in respect to integration of the technology within any other B&O product.

Well, it's all 'live' now.... I was hoping there would be a picture of an uncovered M5. I'd like to see the layout of the drivers. From the elevation, though, it looks like it's a downward-facing woofer?

Mucking about on Google. Page is already down, but it does seem to confirm a solid price in USD.

  • Re: Flash your B&O - new thread!

I also like this one. The S8 sub matches the general shape of the BL9's. If only the satellites took the shape of the BL9 ALT units... or were just dedicated ALT units in the first place Anyway, when you've got time... Gravity!

Yes, makes sense. Didn't mean for my post to sound sarcastic (unintentional). But I agree,... looking for where the power button is on the A1 is a tad annoying. Back to the M5, though... it is kind of a cookie-cutter-like shape for a multi-room speaker. I'm interested to know if anyone can confirm if the M5 is a mono speaker, or if the drivers are angled out somewhat for stereo imaging.

"Handling"? As in 'Power Handling', or as in 'handling like you're playing with it like a kid does with Lego"? Anyway, not sure if it's been mentioned, but it seriously just reminded me of the HP Wave... but like most say, gotta hear it before passing full judgment.

  • Re: BeoPlay A1 Strangeness

Well, I just read jvezina's reply, and he's right on it... it's a phasing technique during production. I just couldn't remember the term earlier. Also, here is a link if anyone else is interested... https://m.soundcloud.com/william-ekkebus/kanna-hashimoto-sailor-fuku-to-kikanjuu-02-arigato
