  • Re: Beoplay H8

I actually ran into this last night (MBP and iPhone). I think the easiest way is to turn the H8 into Bluetooth discovery mode (flashing blue light), and hit connect on your device's BT settings. If I'm not mistaken, quickly flipping the switch to BT on the H8 will only toggle BT on or off. That said, if both previously paired devices are on, and within the same vicinity of the H8 when you turn on BT, the H8 will just connect to whichever it sees first (and pretty randomly).

  • Re: New colors: Replacement parts for Beoplay A1 and A2?

I'm sure a part number is available, and therefore order-able. Whether dealers care about BeoPlay products is irrelevant. Form 2 foam covers are replaceable, S3 covers are replaceable, and even [OEM] replacement wires exist for Earphones (Earset 3i) . If a part number exists, a dealer can order it for you (pending physical availability, of course)... best to just call your local shop. I've even gotten part numbers directly from B&O via a quick e-mail. Personally, I think I would want

  • Headphone Drivers and Ear-pad Seals

So, I noticed something odd today. My current pair of headphones are the H9's (though I don't think it's actually that relevant here). Needless to say, the ear cup seals are quite good. However, in the right ear, if I were to push on the cup against my head slightly, I can hear the plastic driver 'crinkle'. Anyway, aside from my curiosity as to whether others have noticed this as well, it slightly worries me that the driver will get damaged over time, since I notice the crinkling

  • Re: Is it just me? H9 / Track / Distortion

You're right! Although I listened to the 'Original' on that particular release with the same distorted results. I listened to the same track on a different release and no distortion! I remember when I was learning to produce music (a LOOOONNNGGG time ago), I read somewhere that radio-edits are usually compressed horribly. I don't know why I didn't think of that, but it was also nice to have a second opinion. Anyway, the release with significantly less distortion is in the screenshot

  • Is it just me? H9 / Track / Distortion

So, just got my hands on a pair of H9's, and so far, I'm kind of not really convinced that it's worth it. For the deal I managed to find, it's great. At full retail, that might be another story. (This is just IMHO) ANC is nice to have, but I find that it's at the cost of a 'fuller' warm bass experience compared to when ANC is off. I think I will appreciate it more when I travel in the next month. Anyway, I was listening to some Spotify playlists and came across the following

  • Re: Beolab 14 discontinued?

Yes. I bought mine the week they announced the discontinuation, about a year ago. It probably maintained a presence on the website for quite a time after, in order to get rid of the remaining stock.

"Coach and People Leader"? Are they looking for a 'Tony Robbins', or something?

  • Re: A9 makes plastic sounding pops and clicks.

Any chance of a video? Might be a tall order, but I'm honestly really curious about what's going on.

I did extensive materials studies at uni, so this is just my guess. The popping you're hearing is most likely warping of the plastic panels that make up the shape of the unit - similar to when you have a large tray, and you can flex it in your hand somewhat. And because it's connected to another part, the rubbing of two pieces causes the "pop". Another way to think of it is similar to why earthquakes happen... only on a very small scale. The reason the plastic flexes enough to cause

  • Re: New BeoPlay H4 Headphones

Doesn't look like it has a replaceable battery. I do like the looks though... kind of cold-war-ish Also already saw these on eBay last night, but got too lazy to post. I'll leave the searching to you folks. Maybe B&O are planning 100 models for the 100 Yr Anniversary?
