• Re: Beosound *** looking for ***
A little bit ridiculous reaction for a 20$ *** There is well other message which would deserve moderation! But I understand it's a big job and not easy to be moderator !
I agree with Dillen. Freeriding has limits.

  • Re: Beovision 7 55 mk2 3d and beolab 10

Now I understand... At the time two years ago, I was trying to buy a second 7-55 for our vacation appartment. However, I lucked out and then bought an 11-55 which is a great TV as well but not a match to the 7-55. In Switzerland, 7-55s go for about 4000-6000 CHF last time I checked. You may contact some B&O dealers here ? I wish you best of success in selling it to an enthusiast who appreciates this great TV.

Fair price for the BV7-55. I have one as well but it would break my heart to sell it.

  • Re: Beovision 7 50 MK1or II - Can it control a Humax 2Tune

Happened to me just recently that the dealer had to take an earlier version of a STB to control PUC in my 7-55 Mk1 in order to accommodate a newer one (Horizon / UPC). This worked, however, what I suggest is you speak with your dealer who may know which "surrogate version" of an older Humax may work...

Kiran & Razlaw Extremely nice setup with the bordeaux red BL1, congratulations! I will post some pictures but first will be moving house during February and will place an overall 6 BL1 at the new place...4 in black, 2 in silver. re 750 £ for a pair - looks like a smashing price.

  • Re: Beolab 3 - Expected Lifespan

Although I cannot give you a too technical feedback, here is my take. a) mine are running now more than 10 years - no problem at all - sturdy built b) you may know who the previous owner was and what his preference was (loud noise or else...) c) physical check d) the set you may be purchasing may have limited warranty - seller liability Overall and given that I have B&O gear spanning three decades, I have yet to encounter an issue based on lack of durability. You care and it gives back...So go

  • Re: Beolab 1 vs Beolab 8000

... I concur with the previous posters. If you have the space, go for the BL1 with BL2 for surround. Once you have them, it is beneficial to test the settings (wall - free - corner) to color the lower frequencies. My BL1 soldier on for 10 years now - I would miss them.

Although BS5 is a "legacy system" it can soldier on for many years to come...
Well as long as replacement hard drives are available. Mine was replaced for the second time a month ago and I'm now experiencing crashes every few days.
Sorry to hear about the crashes. To "hedge" a bit on longevity, I am on the lookout for a BM5 as a spare...The BS5 unit with the display has not cracked under pressure

  • Re: Hard decision, beosound Monent or Beosound 5

Agree fully with Razlaw and beojeff. Beosound 5 has reached a very high stability in terms of SW build and still amazes with its beautiful interface. Adding the Essence in Aux makes it compatible with today's smartphone or tablet world - or perfects it with MLGW or BLGW, albeit at some higher cost. Needless to say, once one is used to Beo 6, the control of the system with some quirky graphics works as well... Although BS5 is a "legacy system" it can soldier on for many years to come
