• Re: Death Spiral?

This discussion started with the closing of a Bang & Olufsen store closing in Atlanta. It is true B&O has been failing in North America for a long time. Even though I love the brand, the stores here have not been so good. Until the recent recession, they would never take a trade in or give a discount. Getting a B&O product repaired was a challenge. I am convince they will leave North America. However I have not completely given up on Bang and Olufsen. I am planning on buying the new OLED
Well, I just heard that the B&O store in Atlanta, GA is no more, the only B&O store in my state. As of right now, according to the B&O web site, there are exactly 5 stores in the USA. Five, for a population of about 350 million. The Atlanta store was in a very high end area of town, in a high end mall that has no shortage of successful, expensive stores. The center display of cars was not Chevy or Ford, but Aston Martin and Bentley, and still the store went

  • Re: Potential new lg oled tv from B&o this year?

AngloApulian. I agree. I don't like any Google products. I hope B&O uses WebOS. However it seems that B&O is going to use Google Assistant in many of their other products including Beosound Shape. My preference for using the new Beovisions is the option to operate in a sort of standard mode. I am already using AppleTV and cable and don't want anything else. I also hope the NLML converter will work with the new TV in order to connect my ML devices.
Sorry for my misunderstanding. Apparatus means "appareil" in french so should include the tv sets also not only accessories !
I don't think you have misunderstood the descriptions which are intentionally vague. Accessories could allude to different configurations of the TV such as wall mounted, on a stand, or on a shelf. I am planning on a wall mounted system. I will only need the center speaker and will use my Beolab 9s. Bang and Olufsen was

  • Re: Turntable coming
At Billund airport on my way home from the conference and I can assure you all that there won't be a turntable added to the product portfolio...
I guess that ends the speculation. I am looking forward to the new Beovision and I am also hoping for new loudspeakers. Bang and Olufsen mainline products are not very exciting now. I do have some interest in the Beosound 2 but am waiting for different colors.
Soundsmith obviously are already doing this and they are very good. Not cheap but modern cartridges are not!
I have a MMC cartridge manufactured by Soundsmith that I purchased about 5 years ago. It has worked perfectly. I would comment that the sound from the Soundsmith is somewhat brighter sounding than the original B&O cartridges but I like it.
Whenever I ask dealers if they get asked for them, invariably the answer is "yes, all the time"
When I purchased my Rega turntable, it was demoed at a B&O dealer.

  • Re: Turntable coming

This is interesting that Bang & Olufsen may introduce a turntable. I have a Rega turntable that to me has a warm and enjoyable sound. I also listen to digital music through Apple Music and Amazon. I usually buy new LPs from Amazon who include an MP3 download of the LP purchased. I only listen to LPs when I relax with a glass of wine in the evening. Why would anyone want a digital turntable? B&O is actually late to the turntable revival. Most audio companies are selling relabeled turntables
Just to let you know you'll be having one of my long, boring and uninteresting reviews to skim over soon! Don't worry, you can delete it. BeoWorld has been invited to an event in just over weeks time to preview 'two new products which are destined to shape the future of sound' All sounds very exciting - but as I'll have to sign NDA's and risk being marched into the field with the sheep in and beaten to death with a BeoLink 1000 I won't be
