  • Re: Replacement bass woofer for Beovox S45-2

Where are you located? If you are in the States, I would be happy to try to fix your stuck woofer.

  • Re: M70 speaker distortion

No! Is it the smaller cone, or the larger dome? The smaller cone is the phase link, and the larger dome is the midrange. If it's the phase link, the magnet is beginning to slip. You'll need to epoxy the magnet. Well documented problem.

Benny Amina of Amina Audio and Modular Electronics (Google either). He's repaired many of my pieces. He's in Roswell.

That's a beautiful piece, Jacques. Based on the model number I assume it predates the 1000 series. Was there a matching turntable?

  • Re: What's playing RIGHT NOW?

I had pulled out the BC3500 two weeks ago to rebox it as part of spring cleaning. I ended up testing it a bit because I honestly couldn't remember how much it worked. I only briefly played with it when Dom had given it to me. Through headphones, the tuner picked up my favorite station loud and clear without an antenna. All but the Speakers 2 switch seemed to work. Noise from the sliders was minimal. Bummer, then, when the turntable didn't work. The old round belt was soft and broken. I know

  • Re: Beovox M70 phase link driver

I don't have any M70 phase links*, but you may be able to fix them. I've had some luck fixing a few drivers. Perhaps Dillen has one in his dungeon. It may also be a failure in your crossover network. What I thought was a faulty phase link in my S45-2s turned out to be failed electrolytic capacitors in the crossover. You really need to swap parts around and check continuity here and there and do more to diagnose the problem. *I do have 2 spare woofers and 2 spare dome midranges.

Good work. Always enjoy reading about saving speakers from the bin. I had to repair the 4 woofers of my P45's and to date that is still my favorite project.

You can source drivers from Parts Express, Madisound and Meniscus, among many others.
