• Re: penta's or 5k's?

Pentas will definitely sound better. Despite that, my Pentas (-vox) are in storage while my BL5000s are on the living room wall and in daily use. Pentalabs are much more likely to need repairs, and both of these speakers will most likely be useless as investment objects. A pair of BL5000s might sell faster, but a couple of scratches and dents will ruin that. Unless you plan to play very loud on a regular basis, I’d say you can decide on the looks. Forget passive Pentas if you are going to use

  • Re: Are all A6s CA6 versions?

Mine is also CA6, same software level as yours, and RSSI reports as -72 dB (good or excellent in every other display). I haven’t noticed any problems that I could blame on weak wifi connection. The router is perhaps 6 m away, but it is a ZTE with no external antenna, and it has quite short range.
Now have a newer version
Got that in my A6 last weekend(?) and I found no problems during the little testing I did. However, it needed a proper reboot (unplugging from mains) after the update.

  • Re: Beomaster 7000 tuner and Aux connection
One question I have is on the 5V Power supply: how is the voltage adjusted? In the service manual and it says to short circuit or disconnect 2J38 and 2J43 to set the voltage. On my BM 7000 2J38 is intact and 2J43 is cut. How does one adjust the voltage? Is there a pot I'm missing? When I measure the voltage on P14 from pins 2 and 5 it has 8.26V so it's way high if I'm reading the manual right. No load current was a bit high too (12.3V) so I brought that

Well done! For cap kits, contact member Dillen. My old BM6500 thread might also be helpful - you will have a different CPU module and of course the additional RDS module next to it. Otherwise they are almost identical.

I love the Compact and still regret not buying one years ago (you see them very rarely over here).

Not bad at all! This page by Søren might be useful: http://forum.beoworld.org/wikis/memberspages/wood-and-veneer-care.aspx However, the surfaces on your cabinet look pretty good so you probably don't need all that. I have used fine grit sandpaper and finishing with regular teak oil with cabinets that don't have too many scratches or flower pot imprints. If you plan to work further on that corner, finish all that before applying any oils though.
